Do not stay here! No isolation - one can follow conversations outside, beds very very tired and uncomfortable; the pillows (if one can still call them this) paper thin. The bathroom: mould on the walls and the ceiling, really disgusting. And let's not mentioned the so-called breakfast included.

No complaints I felt that I got more for my money for this location when free parking was factored in Yes, there are areas that could be improved but I consider this a budget hotel and not a JW Marriott. The accommodations were in par or better when comparing this hotel/price to other hotels in the immediate SF area. Some of the reviews I see for this hotel are almost like they are from someone that would buy a "econobox" car and complain it does not accelerate fast enough. If you want faster acceleration, buy a sports car. We stayed two nights @ the end of Oct '15 on a 8 day SF to SD pacific coast highway trip. The first two nights this hotel was booked since we were getting in late the first night and wanted to do a Alcatraz tour the next day. The rest of the trip the Expedia app was used to book a room where ever we felt like staying for the night. This was for our 15 yr anniversary. We may do the trip in reverse SD to SF for our 20yr anniversary and will check to see if this hotel is still around then. As noted in other reviews, this hotel is in a good location and is a BUDGET hotel.

I didn't even get what I paid for... Although we booked on the website, our reservation was lost. We were thrown into a room that they don't even use! The light didn't even work in the bathroom! Four people crammed into a TINY TINY room. We weren't even switched for the second night of our stay. Good location, but could've done better with customer service....

Noisy and bit shabby This hotel is very noisy and shabby. The WiFi almost never works which is very annoying when you need the Internet to make subsequent bookings. The breakfast is very simple with very little choice. The location is great as is just around Chestnut Street.

Budget friendly, great location I am a complete hotel snob but traveling to SF we were on a hunt for budget friendly hotel options. The beds were clean with newer bed spreads, the floors weren’t the cleanest but they weren’t completely awful, bathrooms were in fairly good condition. I would recommend this place if you’re looking to stay somewhere on the “lower” price point and if we return to SF we would stay here again. The hotel staff was pretty accommodating and friendly. Additionally, you can’t beat the location – Chestnut Street runs behind the hotel with plenty of great dining and lunch options.
