Used to be better I've stayed and dined at this hotel multiple times over the past decades. Was disappointed on my most recent stay. The toilet was not entirely clean. It wasn't totally nasty, but for a hotel like this, you'd expect a toilet that's spotless when you walk into the room. There also wasn't a refrigerator in my room. Apparently, rooms below a certain floor no longer get fridges unless the guest requests one. I didn't notice the fridge was missing at first. By the time I wanted to use it, it was already late into the evening. I called the front desk and housekeeping. No one picked up. The hotel is still well appointed, with good service, and various nice touches throughout. Location in the downtown Financial District is still great. But I'm going to explore other options the next time I need to stay in SF.

A gem of a hotel Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful! The rooms were nice, beds were comfortable and the hotel was in a great location! We would definitely come back and stay here! We loved staying in a beautiful old hotel with modern amenities! Thank you!

Amazing from start to finish From start to finish, our experience was fantastic. They texted us to find out when we would arrive and they asked if there’s anything we could do to help make it a great experience. I asked them to do something special for my wife. After we checked in and went out for the evening, we were pleasantly surprised to find chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne on our table. They definitely go above and beyond from the cleaning staff to the valet they will make your stay a special one. I will definitely come back and stay at this hotel, especially since the location isn’t riddled with crime and homelessness. Union Square and surrounding areas seem unsafe during the day and especially at night. I highly recommend this location and hotel.

Great time by The Bay.., Our experience was fantastic. The staff was very attentive to our needs throughout the entire weekend. Justin was full of helpful hints or suggestions on places to eat, sights to see and overall conversation. Upon checkin, Firaaz picked up where Justin had started and continued to provide excellent service. Our only dining experience in the hotel was our Saturday morning breakfast. Wesley was outstanding and full of conversation about so many things. His banter was great but not too much or irritating. We are now planning on going back again at the end of the month. I highly recommend that travelers stay here.

Best place to stay Love this hotel. Very good location, perfectly clean rooms with super comfortable bed. Tasty food. Excellent service. We will come back.
