Fun in the Bay area I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by my recent trip to the Bay Area. I hadn't visited since the COVID pandemic, and I typically stay near the Embarcadero district. As a Diamond member, I always prefer to stay at Hilton hotels. This time, I decided to bring my family along so we could explore all the wonderful things the Bay Area has to offer. We stayed at the Park 55 Hotel, and we were very happy with our choice. The staff was accommodating, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. While the decor colors might be a bit drab, that seems common among many hotels in the Bay Area. We stayed on the 30th floor in a one-bedroom Skyview suite, and the views were truly amazing. Noise was not an issue during our stay. I noticed some homeless individuals in the area, so it's wise to be cautious and avoid certain spots. However, we didn't encounter any problems, and overall, the area seemed generally safe. I also want to note that there were no strikes at this hotel. Additionally, they have an amazing gym that is very clean. I highly recommend this hotel! Just a side note: yes, breakfast costs $35, but it offers an incredible spread—not your typical Hampton breakfast. They serve made-to-order omelets. Parking is expensive, but that's not surprising in San Francisco. For families, I recommend taking the kids to the Exploratorium, as you can easily spend an entire day there. Also, be sure to make reservations for popular attractions like Alcatraz and Muir Woods, as they tend to sell out quickly.

Hotel rooms need a refurb This was an OK stay. The room was fine but it’s from the 1990s. It needs upgraded. Also, there’s no sound proofing so you hear the garbage trucks, street cleaning trucks and protests going on right outside. I was woken at 7am every morning. Housekeeping put sheets on the bed with a hole in them. No water left in the room as diamond member and I had to request it. On the plus side, nice views of the city and great bar staff.

Don’t! Stay in Nob Hill or Financial District. My stay at the hotel in the Tenderloin area of San Francisco was very disappointing and concerning. I experienced several issues, both with the area and the hotel itself, which really impacted my trip. On the positive side, I enjoyed the hot, tasty food, the cleanliness, and the overall location’s proximity to many places, although not walkable. I also appreciated the friendliness of the staff, particularly Yolanda, who was responsive and helpful. However, beyond that, the negatives seemed to dominate my experience. The most alarming issues were related to safety, with high crime, homelessness, and drug use in the Tenderloin area, to which I was unaware of before booking. I didn’t feel safe outside the hotel, especially witnessing violent incidents and being harassed while waiting for an Uber. Additionally, being woken up by hotel worker strikes, combined with the constant noise from protests, sirens, and security staff being overly aggressive, added stress to my stay. The hotel’s lack of accommodation regarding a simple broken coffee pot, charging extra for a cup of coffee despite my Diamond membership, and the overall unresponsiveness from staff (besides Yolanda) are also frustrating examples of poor customer service. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel, especially for anyone unfamiliar with the area and looking to walk around.

A good choice It is located in a fairly central part of the city, very close to the departure point of the famous San Francisco tram. High-rise (obviously) with large rooms that, in addition to huge beds, also had armchairs and a desk. The bathroom with bathtub and all toiletries. Large reception area with cafes, bar and luggage storage. Restaurants, supermarkets and shops a few minutes away.

Needs some TLC Another Hilton property that needs some updating. Not necessarily the lobby area, but the rooms themselves. The carpet is old, the furniture is dated, the windows need cleaning, bla bla bla. The bed was very comfortable though which is important for sure. The staff was very nice and helpful. The property is simply tired and needs updating. Oh, and free morning coffee in the lobby would be nice for the hilton honors members, instead of charging $6.
