Good location and room but breakfast queue is a mile long Positive: Good room, nice beds good size, clean bathroom Negative No guest laundry You need to wait more than 15 minutes in a hallway to enter the breakfast. The breakfast itself is quite good, but you cannot enjoy it due to the crowds. Really unacceptable for the price in a hotel if this class

2 Aussies In San Francisco This Motel was Fantastic. We arrived from Australia early in the morning on our first visit this trip and got our room about 12noon, then on the return leg from our cruise we arrived at 9am and our room was ready about 10.30am. The location was also a big plus, as we don't drive while on holidays, every attraction was within walking distance including the cruise terminal. Having bar facilities, wifi, breakfast and a pool just topped it off. We will definitely use this motel every time I visit San Francisco.

Average stay in heart of Fishermans Wharf The RIU is a large, bustling hotel. It is only 3-4 blocks from Pier 39, but has no view to speak of. The breakfast buffet was excellent, but the bed was EXTREMELY hard (and we like firm!). We had to call the front desk several times for messes to be cleaned up in the hallways. Overall, the hotel is fine.

Perfect location This was a perfect location for a stay in San Francisco. We travelled as a family of 5 and stayed in 2 rooms. Some of the positives: - location really is excellent - clean, welcoming bar and lobby area - spacious rooms and bathroom - friendly, cheerful staff in reception and at breakfast - nice pool area for a bit of downtime after a busy day sightseeing Yes, the breakfast service does get busy in the morning but our queue time never exceeded 10 mins. It would have been nice to have the option to dine at the hotel in the evening but not really a big deal as there are so many options within easy reach.

Great stay at Riu Fishermans Wharf, perfect location. This was a great hotel in a great location. This was our first trip to San Francisco and the RIu was the perfect choice. The location is absolutely perfect. Very close to Fishermans Wharf and central to get anywhere in the city. We loved that we could stop back at our room for a break throughout the day when needed. In the evenings, many places to eat are within an easy walking distance. We arrived slightly before check in time, which they mentioned but did have some rooms ready so that we could check in. Our first room overlooked a courtyard filled with a rooftop full of mechancals. Since we were there for 4 nights, I was disappointed. I went back to the front desk and asked if there was another room available in our category with a better view. They did explain they aren't known for their views since its only a 4 storey hotel but they did offer me another room. This one was much better. It overlooked the street, and we could see the ferris wheel and a bit of water if we looked down. It was much better to look out and see life on the street rather than mechanical equipment. the room was a good size, very comfortable and clean. We had the Deluxe King so had a comfy chair and a sectional. The room had a fridge, safe, coffee maker and blow dryer. Our AC was a bit funky and the room was quite warm. The wall thermostat would not turn down the temp so we used the actual unit controls under the window (which has a sign that says don't use) and were able to get the room temperature to a comfortable place. The included breakfast is very good. But it is the exact same items every day...so don't look for a change in the eggs etc. But there is lots to choose from. There is always a line to be seated, but it moves fast and they are very efficient in getting you seated. We didn't use the pool, but the pool area looked very nice. The lobby area has lots of seating, a bar, a grab and go well stocked store and a computer and printer (for printing those boarding passes if you need). We saw lots of families and groups playing games in the evenings . Outside there are fire pits and sofas - but it seemed it was mostly being used as a smoking area. We would definitely stay here again if our travels brought us back to San Francisco and would recommend it to others.
