Hotel Emblem and Brett Brown This hotel was perfect for my good friend who is from out of the country and had not been to America. He was treated with the upmost respect, the rooms were clean, the service was very friendly and customer service oriented. He had an Attend meetings at the conference center, which was a 15 minute walk away. And he felt very safe going there. Brett Brown, the manager, there, was exceedingly helpful, kind, and efficient in helping us with the check in matter. He was so much more friendly and affair than any other hotel manager I have worked with. As part of my job, I travel around the world, and I was very impressed with Brett Brown!

Charming boutique hotel is great location This is a really charming boutique hotel in a great location a few blocks from Union Square. Staff was very nice and accommodating. I asked for a quiet room and was put in 602 at the back. It opened up to an interior courtyard and was very peaceful. No street noise whatsoever. The room was cute, clean and larger than I expected. The bed was super comfortable. The shower and products were great. The TV had Hulu, Netflix, Prime, etc so I could log in and watch my shows. The cafe in the lobby was the perfect place to grab a coffee and muffin. Really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this place. The only negative is that it is an old building so the elevator can take awhile but it wasn't a big deal.

Very good choice in a very expensive city My wife and I stayed here two nights while on a two week road trip of the west coast. I'll start by saying San Francisco is one of the most expensive places in the country and compared to other hotels in the area, this was a great value. However, it wasn't quite 5 stars as it was missing a few things that could have made it so. I'll list the key points: Temp control in room did not work. Could not get temp below 70 degrees at any time during stay No room fridge Very cool decor Spacious and clean room $75 per night valet charge No vent in bathroom but a window can be opened No food available but there is a bar Good shower pressure Each side of bed had nightstand with AC and USB charging ports Staff was friendly and tried to be helpful but they were not very knowledgeable Payment system wasn't working properly at check out Excellent location - we were able to walk everywhere including to the Pier 39 area. Close to trolley line and Chinatown I really liked this hotel but felt there were a few small details that were the difference between 5 stars and 4 stars. Nonetheless, I highly recommend it.

Great stay Good location for cable cars, union square and plenty of eating places nearby. Large clean room , nice bar area and cafe adjacent. Very friendly friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay. Room could have done its another lamp or two as we found it a bit dark.
