Loved this hotel! If you are looking for new, modern, sleek, this is not for you. The Hotel Majestic is like a blast from the past. The rooms are lovely -with rich fabrics and embellishments. The bath was large and well equipped. Great bed and quality sheets and towels. The bar is charming and the breakfast area looks like it was formerly a ballroom. Location is great- just about in the center of everything but not too close to anything that would lead to noise/ congestion. Lots of good restaurants close by. And best of all, to a person the staff were delightful.

Enjoy the graciousness of the past in this turn of the twentieth -century hotel. We loved our stay at Hotel Majestic. It is authenticlly old, has a lot of charm, a big breakfast with make- your own waffles, fruit pastry, etc., polite and sensitive staff, and a romantic, if small, room. It also is in a very quiet neighborhood, and I didn't see any homeless on the nearby streets. The decor is French art deco, with a beautiful entrance. Our room was on the second floor,( we chose that floor) near the cross of Sutter and another street, but still the noise wasn't much during the day, and fairly quiet at night. My husband, who lived in Paris for years, loved the draped decor over the bed and the European type wardrobe closet. I loved the well-worn humorous artwork in the elevator and a nice, gilded bathroom. There are also grand suites with firepla, ces. Our room was next to the one Senator Diane Feinstein used. Others, more glamorous movie stars from various film periods occupied. That's fun. Though not in the heart of some tourist areas, you can get to most anywhere by nearby public buses as well as Lyft/Uber ,

One of SF's Great Secrets! A Classic Hotel This is such a great hotel, the type of great stay you think about even after you've left. And it's also an unspoilt classic hotel from the end of the 19th century, when hotels were grand. And this is grand on a delightfully comfortable scale. It's not a huge hotel, though most of the rooms are. The room I stayed in had a great canopy bed and bay windows with a nice sitting area that looked onto the street. To make it even better, the staff are lovely and helpful. I was in town for a college reunion and they were wonderful in welcoming my friends and me to the charming bar next to the dining room. It was the perfect way to cap off an evening in SF. Btw, there seems to be convenient street parking though I recommend using the big public garage a few blocks away in Japantown Plaza. I would definitely stay here again!

Got locked in the bathroom and experienced the worst customer service. Traumatic all in all! Hotel Majestic Review - google Had the worst experience staying at Hotel Majestic hotel during our 3-night-stay in SF. I strongly advise anyone reading this to look for other hotels. This one has the worst customer service, rooms, and facilities. My partner and I had a traumatic experience being locked inside the bathroom of our hotel room without our phones. I had to scream for help from the fourth floor to passerbys in the street—thank god one person saw us and went to the front desk to tell them let us out. The manager and one staff member came to our room to open our bathroom door. Instead of being apologetic, the manager was gaslighting us, telling us that the bathroom door had a simple push-knob feature. My partner and I were both dumbfounded because he was making us look stupid. We did everything to get out and my partner almost attempted to break the door if it weren’t for me screaming for help. We told the manager to try it for himself and see if he can get out. Guess what? He couldn’t and had to knock on the door for the other staff to let him out! The manager moved us to a smaller room which extremely annoyed us. They left us a bottle of wine which I assumed was their way of apologizing. We already prepaid for the three nights via Booking—very regrettable. When we checked out, I asked the front desk to request for some sort of refund to cover for the major inconvenience and traumatic experience we had during our stay since clearly the wine they sent barely covered that. The staff assured us that they will take care of us, contact Booking regarding our payment, and call us within 1-2 days. No call was made. After a week, I followed-up before posting this review. The staff who picked up the call said they guarantee that they will follow-up and give us a call within the day. Again and unsurprisingly, no call was made, hence this post Worst customer service, unsafe rooms, and not the mention, the extremely slow elevator. Save yourself from the trauma and inconvenience and do not book your stay at Hotel Majestic.

Friendly, clean, sharing hotel with friendly staff We arrived at 2:30 am but the desk is open 24 hours, so no problem. The room was huge and looked out onto the street. Everything was very comfortable and slept soundly. The hotel has huge charm but if you like everything shiny, new and soulless, it is not for you. We will definitely stay here next time we are in SF.
