Fairmont El San Juan Hotel

Best wedding ever! Excellent location and amenities! I traveled across the world you can never beat Fairmont hospitality and decorum! From the several pools to the 24hr fitness gym and landscaping it’s top notch! The casino is an added bonus if you like to gamble!

Vacation with Mother A fabulous mother and daughter weekend! Nice hotel with beautiful pool, beach and club entertainment. The room was nice and clean. Less than 10 minutes from airport. Hotel Staff was friendly and recommended great nearby restaurants. My mother enjoyed the casino on the property… maybe because she hit the jackpot. lol The only issue— the hotel hallways smelled damp and a little mildew. I would stay here again.

Cultured Hotel With Amazing Views and Great Hospitality This hotel is truly beautiful. It has so much character given that it is an older property. The staff are very nice and welcoming. Michael Mendez, a server on the beach, is absolutely incredible. He made my time at the beach so nice. I enjoyed all of the restaurants, especially the meat market, and the Italian restaurant. You must try the chocolate martini as a dessert from the meat market. It is amazing. It was my sister birthday and we were part of the signature experience so they did bring cake and cookies to our room on her birthday and they sung her happy birthday, which I thought was very nice. There were kids at the resort, but they weren’t loud or running all over the place. It was very cohesive for singles, families without kids, and families with kids. Which is important for me because I didn’t have any kids with me. The beach view from the resort is amazing and the water was beautiful this time of year in July. They have many water activities. I also was able to get some pineapples with drinks on the beach and fruit. We rented a cabana on the beach, which was very nice.

Old hotel but still a gem One of the most expensive hotels on the island, but worth it if you value the following: 1. Location- excellent for people who just want to stay local/walk around. You can arrange for car service to and from the airport and to Old San Juan. 2. Pool & Beach- so many pools to choose from, never had an issue finding chairs and the pool staff are incredibly accommodating. The beach property is also exceptionally clean with comfy chairs and umbrellas that you can request anywhere you like. 3. Friendly Staff- traveling with a large group and a small child, having friendly people there to assist is crucial. However, I am a firm believer that staff should also be treated like people and not servants. With that attitude, I found every encounter to be extremely pleasant, super helpful and appreciative (I also believe in tipping when servers or staff are providing an extra service or exceptional attention) Now as for the rooms and the overall hotel- this hotel has gone through many facelifts but still maintains its more original “nighttime flare” aesthetic with gorgeous dark wood details and low lighting. The rooms are clean and comfortable but do show signs of aging here and there. For some, this might be a deal breaker, but for me, a room is where I change and sleep, that’s it. So all I need is comfort and cleanliness. The hotel did lose power a few times during the night (2-4am) but that didn’t really impact our stay and each time the power returned within a minute or two. I hope this review is helpful. This is definitely a landmark hotel with a ton of history and depending on what you are looking for, a truly wonderful stay!

Hope it gets better here! Not luxury hotel anymore My room was musty and moldy; very sad because we loved this property in the past. Management and the housekeeping staff was so kind and tried to accommodate with another room but was unable to find a room replacement so we canceled and changed hotels.
