Rundown and needs a complete renovation for the price. Photoshop? The best part of this hotel is walking into the open-air lobby with views out to the pool and beach area. The staff member who checked us in was friendly and the complimentary water bottles were nice. BUT, the exorbitant cost of a room and the state of the hotel and grounds were very disappointing. Not expected for a Hilton property. This hotel clearly showed evidence of being dilapidated and old and needs a complete renovation for the price. The shower pressure was low and just trickled. The area could be beautiful but the abandoned building next door and the surrounding area made it feel rundown. There were not enough beach/ pool chairs and the beach was small and matched the shoddiness of the property. The gym, by comparison, was much newer and had a decent amount of equipment. I wouldn't spend the money again to stay here and would look into other properties nearby or in Old San Juan. The cost of a 3000sf 3 BR villa with every amenity needed and on the beach was less than half the price of The Caribe Hilton. Unless you have the money to waste on a below-average hotel, stay elsewhere or in an Airbnb, especially for families.

Run down; Poor service Yikes--old, dated room. Needs a complete refresh. When I got to the room, the locker door wasn't functioning properly and the air conditioner could not be shut off or the temperature changed. It literally took 7 calls to guest services before they were fixed.

Extremely Disappointed I booked this trip excited to go with friends of ours who were meeting us there. We were also excited to be celebrating a pregnancy, which we unfortunately lost the day before our trip was scheduled. I had to cancel our trip for obvious medical reasons, as I was dealing with a miscarriage and not able to travel. When trying to contact the hotel’s management team to explain my situation and try to reschedule or get some kind of refund or voucher to rebook, no one would even speak to me. I was given the run around and not regarded. When your family is hit with tragedy, one would hope a big business would have the human decency to just have a conversation, instead of turning their heads and refusing to listen, even if there was nothing they could do. Take the money and don’t care about the customer, I can imagine that would be their policy. Once my doctor gives me the green light, we will be traveling to Puerto Rico, but will be looking elsewhere, as the response, or lack there of, was really disgusting, during such a devastating event in my life. Do better, as I’m sure if tragedy struck your family, you would want others to have compassion for you as well.

This Hilton was NOT up to the chain's usual standards We stayed from July 3-7 for a wedding. This hotel charges premium prices for sub-par service/accommodations. My impression overall: the hotel is dated, in need of some very substantial repairs and not worth the $$ spent. I would return to Puerto Rico to visit but I wouldn't stay here again. First off, our entire stay there was only 1 elevator working and we were on the 7th floor. At all hours of the day there was at least a 5-10 minute wait for the elevator. On more than one occasion I ended-up walking up and down the stairs because i didn't want to wait! Second: the room was very dated, furniture looked old/shoddy, the bathroom door (a sliding door) did not close properly and was always open!! Good thing it was only my wife in the room. For dining, I would advise leaving the resort and finding local options as the hotel food is average and very overpriced. Also, the Mojitos' restaurant was closed, further limiting options. They had a breakfast buffet for about $75 per person!! Even for Hilton, that's steep. Some bright spots: a good gym/fitness room. Outdoor pools, beach access and maid service was good and helpful. But, when you're paying nearly $400 per night, at a Hilton property, you expect better. Much better. I wouldn't recommend Hilton Caribe. There are many better and much cheaper options to be had on the island.

No complaints—-only praise Don’t hesitate-this hotel is great!! I went to PR last week and spent many hours pouring over reviews trying to find the perfect hotel for my trip. I ended up booking the Caribe Hilton and it was wonderful—highly recommend. Kind staff. Shout out to Ray the bellman. He gave great service and advice. Stayed in Wave Tower room on high floor with clean view balcony. View was great and I could hear waves from my balcony. Some complaints in other reviews about rooms but mine was great so book in Wave tower which has obviously been renovated. Had fabulous room service breakfast one day. Was able to get Kate checkout so could enjoy lots of time on beatiful beach before our 5 pm flight home. Morton’s on property made big fuss for my birthday which was lovely. Beatiful swam in garden and concierge gave us food to feed it and koi fish. Amazing hammocks in shade. Starbucks in lobby for my teenager. No complaints from me at all —- just praise for this classic hotel.
