Disappointing….dont expect much Don’t expect much….this property is dated. The only thing that looks updated is the central atrium area. The rooms are outdated and worn. No updated plugs, in fact had a hard time finding enough electric plugs let alone no usb plugs in the room. No capability to stream your own accounts on the television. The bathroom door opened so far out into the halls, no room to pass by when the door is open. A barn yard door would be a lot more functional. We had a room facing the freeway on the second floor- very noisy with the freeway traffic even with the door closed. The sliding door facing the freeway barely locked- this is a safety hazard. The outdoor of the hotel liked either dirty or moldy, not sure which. The hallway to our room was dark, dingy and smelled like mold. I checked in online the night before, choosing the room. We arrived earlier than expected and they allowed to check in without any extra charge (which seems to be the standard lately with Hilton- disappointing). The staff were nice. We didn’t take advantage of the mangers reception in the evening or the breakfast in the morning but they do offer these complimentary. Do disappointed in Hilton lately. The last three stays with this brand have been more than disappointing. I have been a Hilton homers member for 30+ years and I can definitely see a change in management philosophy in the last few years.

Descent hotel Overall the hotel is nice and most of the staff is friendly. Its located in a good area next to dining and shopping. My only issue was the bar inside the hotel. We just wanted to get a few beers and the bar tender proceeds to have an entire conversation with some other guests while we just stood there waiting . Was very rude. He could’ve easily said to them “ hold on let me take their order real quick” it would’ve taken him less than a few minutes to pour our drinks. We just walked away after standing there for almost 10 minutes and i noticed some other guests at the bar did the same. We paid good money to stay here it wasn't free.

Excellent stay I was very impressed with this hotel . Hotel was very welcoming upon entrance. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is quite good with a wide variety of hot foods and you can have egg items custom made. Hotel has lobby bar with food. Located next to shopping and dining and close to freeway

Good hotel in a good location The hotel is located in a good spot off Highway 101 and very close to Highway 1 giving you good access to Cal Poly, Hearst Castle, Solvang, etc. The hotel is located in a strip mall so there are big box stores and restaurants in the same area and across the street. It's not downtown SLO but you do get free parking. And on Saturday mornings, there's a good farmers market in the parking lot as well. The lady at check in was very accommodating in finding us a good room. Since the hotel only has 4 floors in the standard Embassy Suites format of an atrium in the middle, they have some rooms that have the windows facing the atrium. That's the first time I have seen that in an Embassy Suites. The service at the Happy Hour was great and they had some decent appetizers - good tortilla chips with salsa and chex mix. And of course there were the free drinks. There were two things I really liked about the breakfast: the made to order omelette station and real plates and silverware. Much better on the environment than all the paper plates and plastic utensils that most hotels throw out every day at these breakfasts. I saw the pool but didn't try it out. It's a medium to small size indoor pool. The fitness center is well equipped with mats, free weights, arm exercise machines, ellipticals, treadmills. The room came with a safe, fridge, microwave, and a bathtub/shower combo. Only small issue I had was that the water in the shower/bathtub wasn't scalding hot.

Depressing and dead Is this where vacuum salesmen go to die? Hotel is in the middle of nowhere and stuck in the brown 70’s..yuck. Bathroom is in the middle by the bedroom and the fan is on 24/7 …the fan noise at night was so annoying and drove us mad. Forget a hot shower..the hot water was Luke warm due to limited supply. Staff were also beige like robots… felt surreal like it was out of a lame horror movie. Breakfast was horrible and all packet or processed…coffee undrinkable so went to nearby Starbucks. We won’t be back…such a depressing place.
