Naked and Afraid Voyeur's Haven We put our belongings in our room feeling reasonabley satisfied after initial inspection. We went back to our car to get a few more things, and we're astounded as to how we'll you could see in our room in spire of the curtains being closed. We tried several manipulations of the curtains and placing a chair in front of the curtain to provide more privacy to no avail. We went to the office and the night clerk could not put us in another room, told us the hotel was full, even though the "vacancy" light was on, and couldn't contact a manager. He only resolution to privacy was to give us a sheet with safety pins and told us to pin the sheet to the curtain and shut it in the door so it would cover the gap the curtain left and hopefully blocked the view of the bed!

Great affordable hotel for families! This is a great, affordable hotel near Cedar Point! The owners are lovely and accommodating. Our multi generational family had a great stay on a packed summer weekend. So many of the hotels around Cedar Point have inflated prices and this was one of the only cost effective options. Will definitely return the next time we visit Cedar Point.

Simply the best! This was my second stay at SSI, the first being two years ago. I was impressed with an updated room that was sparkling clean. The bed was comfortable, the linens soft, and the air conditioner nice and cold. It's an almost-unbeatable location about a 5-minute drive to the parking lot of Cedar Point - only beatable by a walkable hotel, but then you would pay 4x more. Breakfast had ample options, including yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, juices, bagels, cereal, and more. The staff was very friendly and kind! If my travels bring me back to Sandusky, this would be the first place I would look to find a room!

Way better than expected This place really is a hidden gem. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and genuinely helpful (i.e. offering to help bring things up stairs, holding doors etc.) They are subtle and little things, but really seem to show that they are genuinely nice people. They offered ice cold bottled water which, although is a small thing, goes a long way to leave a good impression. It's also not a chain, so I kind of liked supporting an independent business. The room was quite nice and clean. The bathroom was spacious and had a sink inside, as well as outside which I love. So many hotels now have the sink/mirror exclusively outside the bathroom and not in it which I personally hate. Sometimes you want privacy shaving etc. while using a mirror. But I digress... It is fairly close to train tracks. I think we heard on or two through the night. It was fine for us, but I should mention it. Other than that, it's a relatively quiet and safe feeling location. The breakfast was pretty good and they had the automatic pancake machines which I love. It was very close to Cedar Point....$10 by Uber or a 4 minute drive or so. I would definitely go back.
