Don't bother booking A week after making a reservation, I received an email from the hotel saying they could no longer honor my reservation and that *I* should cancel through Expedia. Given this hotel's policy to charge 30% of the total cost for any cancellation, I was hesitant to cancel myself -- THEY should put in the cancellation, not me... Expedia tried calling the hotel for WEEKS and couldn't get anyone to pick up, let alone confirm that they were the ones canceling on me. Now I'm paying money for THEIR mistake. Never again.

Be careful with this one! Booked and paid for the ‘Victorian Suite’ on 19 February for three nights in May 2020. SEVENTEEN days later I have received a very impersonal (Dear guest) standard email stating “we are unable to accommodate your reservation at this time”. Interestingly, the room is available for a vastly inflated cost to the amount I paid on Ebookers! Customer Service is just as bad as I sent a polite email to them on 8 March before realising the room is still available, requesting suggestions for alternative accommodation- no reply received!

DIdn't Live Up to the Marketing AWJI is very well located around 10 mins walk from the town centre in a quiet residential street. So a perfect location. However, there are too many downsides to give a good rating. Overall the place has the air of having seen better days and is somewhat dark and uninviting. Maybe this is supposed to be part of its character, but it didn't work for us. The room "Wild Rose" suffers from a very unattractive pokey bathroom that is in desperate need of a refurbishment. It also had no heating, so in February was absolutely freezing - if you're attracted by the thought of the advertised spa bath then think again. The buffet breakfast isn't served until 8.30am. That's far too late for tourists wanting to get out and make the most of the day or needing to head off to their next destination. The breakfast itself is OK, though didn't appear to be restocked, so make sure you're not late if you want your first choice. Finally, the hosts were an overly loquacious gentleman (John) who didn't seem to understand when it was appropriate to conclude a conversation, and a surly German (we were told) woman who seemed to do her best to avoid any contact by blanking guests. In summary, the marketing suggests this place is a beautiful romantic B&B. The reality is an establishment with hosts that don't seem to understand current day standards of hospitality, and appear to have fallen well behind the times.

Charming Inn - We will be back! We arrived and easily found the Inn situated on a quiet residential street. Plenty of street parking for our car. Quick check in and we walked across the street to our charming cottage. Two fireplaces in our room immediately caught our attention and were used throughout our stay. The room had a bedroom and lounge room tastefully decorated. Full of personality and small touches that made the room interesting. We had booked dinner at the top restaurant in Santa Barbara and learned it was a two block walk from our cottage. State Street and all it has to offer is also two blocks away. The Inn is perfectly located away from the traffic of Downtown but close enough for a short stroll to be checking out the stores and restaurants. Breakfast was nice and they had a few unique offerings available. Overall a great stay and we look forward to our next visit. We will stay here again!

The Perfect Santa Barbara Experience My sister and I stayed in the “Craftsman Room” at a White Jasmine Inn on our trip to California, all the way from Toronto. We had an unforgettable experience there. Perfect location, close to all major things to see/do in Santa Barbara. Quiet + safe neighbourhood. Parking was very easy and free. The room was beautifully furnished with Victorian style decor and the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. The innkeeper was so friendly and helpful, and also very funny. You can tell he is very passionate about making your stay the best it can be. Breakfast was lovely, with a wide selection of food to accommodate any dietary restrictions. There is also the option to have breakfast in their beautiful garden. The attention to detail at this quaint bed and breakfast would make anyone’s stay the perfect one.
