Very disappointing We loved Santa Barbara but were incredibly disappointed with the hotel. We paid $800 a night for our rooms expecting 4/5 star hotel standards. It seems from reading the reviews already posted, even though management has responded saying that they would look to rectify issues people have reported, this clearly has not happened. We had two ocean view rooms and the general maintenance of these rooms was terrible. The ceiling in our bathroom was broken, there were stains on the carpet, the table on the outside patio was badly chipped and needed painting, the chair cushion on the patio was filthy with stains, the base of the bath/shower was filthy and brown, ceiling in my kids bathroom was leaking water and there was a piece of loo roll logged in to stop the leak, wires simply taped on the wall, a box fell off from above the door and had simply been taped on with masking tape, the lock on our patio door was damaged and bent. The list goes on. See photos attached. I shared this feedback and photos with the manager whilst we were staying there and offered to point things out to them but they did not seem very interested in coming to take a look. We were given a contribution as a token to recognise that the hotel room was not up to scratch but I was not filled with confidence having read the reviews from the last couple of months that anything will be done. Such a shame as the hotel we stayed in before this and the one we are in now are incredible. I will never book a Hilton hotel again.

The absolute worst Hilton hotel The bell man and front desk were great and friendly. But after that everything went downhill. The hotel is falling apart. We stayed in a standard 2 queen bed room. The room was run down. The balcony door was half broken and had to force it open and closed. The door frames were rotted from water damage and the shower head was broken. At the breakfast buffet, we waited about 10 minutes for a table at an empty restaurant. The buffet was the sadest buffet I've ever seen at a hilton, stuck in a dark room with bad lighting (very depressing). Wanted to order an omelet but couldn't due to lack of staff and he'd to beg the hostess to order it and at the end we just got up and left the breakfast, that was already paid for. The F&B manager couldn't care less and said since we ordered the breakfast with the room there was nothing he could do and left. This has to be the most expensive Hotel I've ever stayed at, even more than Conrad hotels (hiltons top teir) and the absolute worst hotel I've ever been to. By the way, the hotel is not beachfront!! It's across the street with the beach behind a fence.

Nice Location, very disappointing in every other regard Having stayed at many Hilton properties worldwide I can confidently say this is one of the most underwhelming and disappointing hotels. It promotes itself as a Luxury resort but is miles off. Over an hour to check in with very little apology started the shambles off. Thereafter what we have experienced is akin to a 3 star hotel. Both myself and 11 year old some were poorly after a very limited buffet breakfast, the pool bar opens at 12 but never actually does, there’s no table service and is very basic. The hot tub was out of action. The shuffleboard was old and broken which is fairly representative of the hotel generally. We tried to order room service on Sunday evening (because my son was too ill to go out) and discovered they only offer the service on a Friday and Saturday. Overall it is overpriced and I would avoid staying here.

QUITE DISAPPOINTING This resort is quite old but clean. What I find disappointing is that for $700 per night I feel like we are staying in $150 per night hotel. There are no amenities that you would expect for these prices. No shower gel or niceties that we usually find at this cost. If getting 2 bottles of water for being an honors member I’d rather have shower gel. The room is updated but what you would expect in a Hampton or less. Shame on you Hilton!!!

Very Disappointing I was disappointed with our stay. As a Diamond member who frequents many Hilton properties, this one does not live up to its luxury status. When I checked in, I was given a very quick rundown of the room location with no other details. No mention of my Diamond status, no mention of an upgrade, and nothing about the amenities and services on property (would have been nice to know we could have access to beach chairs). Very disappointing check-in experience. I was actually downgraded to an accessible room with my Diamond status and no mention of the room type. They also placed us in a room next to a rotating group of guests that first had a very noisy dog that barked all night and then a group of women in the room the next night that yelled and laughed all night long. Needless to say, we did not get any sleep during our stay. I did not even bother asking to move rooms as we heard that they were full and from my disappointing prior front desk experiences, did not have any confidence they would do anything about it. Good location but poor service for this 4 Diamond property. I will not be staying here again.
