Let me count the ways Pillows for 2, but we were 4 in a suite. Called at 8:30 PM for more pillows. None came. Next day, manager said he was sorry when I asked again, said he would send them up. Didn't happen. Checking out -- the room phone didn't work. Room was OK, but the noisiest heater/cooler in recent hotel memory, and all this for only $400 a night.

Wonderful little Gem We were nervous about the hotel when we pulled up. It looks like it’s next to the county jail, but once you walk into the lobby, all fears disappeared. The staff was warm and welcoming. Rainbow in the bar was a gem. All the common spaces are clean and well lit and other travelers were just as happy and friendly as the staff. Pool area was fantastic being just off the boardwalk makes for a quiet and relaxing hotel. The rooms could use a bit of love, but all in all, put entire family loved it and can’t wait to go back!!

Filthy. Terrible service It takes a lot for me to give a hotel one star. Unless it is truly terrible, I give a two-star. This hotel is absolutely awful. It is quite literally a motel that was given a little bit of a makeover. The bare minimum. There was mold on the wall in the shower. The floor and sideboards were absolutely filthy. The wallpaper is peeling. The walls are paper thin. It isn’t in a good neighborhood. After trying to bring this to the attention of the manager, Christian, in a polite way, we were met with a ton of attitude! He pretty much gave us the middle finger and told us to go stay somewhere else. This hotel was probably more accommodating and run better when it was a motel! If you’re looking for a a Bonvoy property in the area, save yourself the trouble and just stay elsewhere. I am a loyal Bonvoy member, and any Springhill Suites or Courtyard is light years ahead of this place, it is a dump.

Great Weekend Trip Hotel is well maintained, good area and very attentive to guest. My daughter left her pillow in the room on the day of check out. I had a call from the hotel (Elizabeth) offering to ship the pillow to us. Elizabeth went above and beyond to return the pillow and make sure we were happy. Overall great Hotel and great experience.

Bad covid-19 safety enforcement This is definitely one of the best hotels in Santa Cruz. but unfortunately, this review is a two-star downgrade from my last review. the hotel is very nice. The staff are outstanding. The grounds are clean and cheerful. The room is comfortable. The pool and hot tub are outstanding. But the hotel is not enforcing the covid-19 mask wearing safety procedures on the grounds. The staff are following the guidelines perfectly. But many of the guests are not. On Saturday night several of the guests were so drunk that they were stumbling and falling. Needless to say, they had no masks and they were quite vocal. None were violent or angry, but the mix of extremely drunk guests being allowed to walk around the hotel and small children made for a bit of an uneasy situation. Combine that with the guests lack of mask-wearing, and, for anyone who is not vaccinated, it was definitely not an optimum situation.
