Great for a visit, skip for an event This is an exceptionally beautiful property with never-ending architectural and cultural details that will blow your mind. The 5th floor Tower Bar with views of the mountainside is a must-do when in Santa Fe. However, if you're looking for a fine dining experience or an event, I would reconsider. The food is mediocre at best and service is unreliable.

Wonderful mother daughter trip! My daughter and I had a beautiful room at La Fonda on the plaza! We had a great view of the Basilica and the room decorations were perfect for Santa Fe! We loved the room so much we ordered room service for dinner and the food was fantastic! We will go back to stay here again.

Historic Hotel Downtown Santa Fe We chose to spend a couple of nights at the La Fonda in Santa Fe, as it was the last hotel we needed to check off the bucket list item of staying in the old Fred Harvey Hotels along the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe railroad line. There are only 4 of the hotels left that have been restored. The La Fonda is a beautiful hotel and the location couldn't be more perfect for walking the downtown area of Santa Fe. The front desk staff that checked us in were friendly and helpful. The parking garage attendants were also very nice. I had booked a historic king room and it was clean, comfortable and quiet. I did book the Route 66 package which gave us breakfast in La Plazuela daily, a free margarita each during our stay, a discount on parking and a few Route 66 perks like playing cards and a Route 66 magazine. I will say that this hotel didn't have any history information on Fred Harvey and has been completely remodeled, but they have kept the historic atmosphere of the scenery around Santa Fe and the Southwest. We were very happy with our room, the hotel and the location.

Great Place to Stay on the Plaza Stayed in balcony room overlooking Water Street. Room was very clean and comfortable. Had A/C running so no issues with occasional street noise below. No noise at all from other rooms or hallway. The most memorable thing was the very friendly and helpful staff. Everyone greeted you as you walked past. Had dinner and breakfasts in the hotel. Excellent meals with great service. Manager stopped by table at every meal to check on us. Great location for visiting Santa Fe. Walking distance to all sights near the Plaza.

Best place to stay on the Plaza Excellent hotel and location.  The staff was very friendly and helpful.  The room we stayed in was exceptional.  Historical sites, restaurants and shopping are all nearby.  We parked our car and walked everywhere.  We are so glad we stayed here and definitely recommend.
