Las Palomas

Gross. Lost all faith in TripAdvisor. Run down. Dirty. Dark. Didn’t provide extra linens as promised for the pull out bed. Room was nothing like the photos. Room description was a huge stretch of the imagination. Rug was ancient and filthy: needs to be burned. Floor was covered in hair and chips of paint. Hair on the ceiling of the shower. Holes in the walls. Every lampshade askew. Mold and rust in the bathroom. I could keep going. This isn’t the worst place we’ve stayed, but for the ridiculous price we paid, it’s absolutely unacceptable. This hotel may have some decent rooms; ours was not.

Wonderful Stay at Las Palomas Great place to stay. Conveniently located, amazing room, & wonderful cook to order breakfast! The staff were very accommodating & helpful! Our room was spacious & able to be kept cool & was very clean! Loved our room & private patio. I would definitely recommend Pas Palomas as a wonderful place to stay!

A three out of five This hotel has the advantage of being close to the plaza. There are approximately five blocks to get there. Also, the breakfasts are individually made to order and generally delicious. The personnel are very hospitable. However, we agree that the online pictures of this hotel are very misleading. Be prepared to be disappointed when you see that the room is very retro with well-worn furniture generally lacking in character. The floor may not be even throughout. Ours slanted downwards. Also, while we were told that the room would be cleaned every other night, that didn’t happen until our very last night.

Bohemian vs. the photos..._ The staff was exceptional-pleasant, helpful, professional. The overall property was lovely. The location was very good. The size of the accommodation was spacious. Breakfast and breakfast service were amazing! The bed with metal frame/ legs (which extended past the mattress) was a hazard. We ended up wrapping towels around the legs to avoid injury. Although the property itself was delightful the actual accommodation did not match the advertised photos which made it look more upscale vs. the tattered bohemian vibe it gave off. The bathroom, in particular, was very dated and spartan. A little TLC could go a long way in elevating this property-e.g. an area rug in main area, attention to cleaning the corners, cleaner grout in general. All in all, it was a pleasant stay in a good location.

Bitter and sweet We wanted to stay at a small hotel when visiting Santa Fe for the first time, although we are honors members with a national chain. The staff accommodated our request for an early check in, which was greatly appreciated. The room was comfortable and quiet, breakfast was delicious. Our problem came when we had to cancel a night as a hurricane was coming into the Houston area where we live. Because we gave only a 30 hour notice instead of the required 48 hours, our room payment was not refunded. It was very disappointing, as a hurricane is an extraordinary event and I would have hoped for a bit of leniency in this situation. We were offered a credit toward another night if we booked within the next month- but we were not able to commit and they would not issue a credit by email. Be aware of this when booking, you never know what circumstances might affect your travel.
