Clean and Comfortable Spacious rooms, clean, affordable, friendly staff, great location. Always try to get a room here when we need to stay in the area. Large closet and the kitchen is nice to have, as is the extra seating and desk areas.

Great place to stay The building looks like newer construction. The room is larger and comfortable. Having the kitchen helped with our trip budget. Shaws is across the street. The hotel had a list if restaurants with notations which would deliver to the room. We will definitely stay here again.

Clean, new, and comfortable Room was cozy with all the needed amenities. The bedding was particularly good--firm and soft pillows available. The front desk has reduced working hours, so beware of the time you are checking in as the front desk may not be operating. The front desk was kind enough to phone me in the evening to advise me of their reduced hours, would have been nice if this were communicated earlier in advance. Easy drive to airport. About 15 minutes drive from downtown Portland.

Great Experience We just stayed at Candlewood for 2 nights, and we were very satisfied and happy with everything. The room was meticulously clean. The kitchenette was especially helpful and well-stocked for cooking stay-in meals. The workers at the front desk were immediately helpful when I requested coffee filters, etc. We will be back. The attentive staff made all the difference.I now wish a tried to get another night while there, Joan from Clinton, CT

The hotel of 1000 smells and stains The exterior of the hotel had dead grass and was clearly unmaintaned. We walked past several sloppy, young, tatooed people who were smoking with their children around them. It was foreshadowing of what was to come. We had to upgrade to get 2 beds in one room. At this price we could have stayed at a premium hotel at a water front. The journey to the room was filled with foul aromas of cooking. When I opened the door of the room I immediately saw the room was not clean, but that was insignificant compared to the strong smell of skunk Marijuana. The kitchen walls counter and refrigerator had food splatters. The sofa had what looked like a sex stain and food spills. The bathroom had 2 greasy hand prints on the wall above the toilet where someone had clearly urinated with their hands on the toilet wall. The sprinklers were taped off from painting but the tape was still over the fire sprinklers. There were hairs stuck to the walls and floors both straight and curly. There was a used mini lotion bottle on the bathroom counter. The wall mounted soap dispenser was out of shampoo. I was already obligated to the room because I booked it on priceline so we went to the store and got cleaning supplies. First I put every kitchen item we might use in the dishwasher. Including 2 broken coffee cups. 2 of us spend 45 solid minutes of cleaning. Because of Covid-19 we expected the rooms to be more carefully cleaned. The amount of dirt, grease, dust and other food particles showed the room had not been cleaned. At night I could hear trucks passing by. Our room was less than 100 feet away from the freeway. I would warn anyone who sees the hotels pictures of beautifully remodeled rooms that this is not the current state of the hotel. It is not a romantic hotel or good place to stay for a family visit. I wouldn't stay there again even if I was offered a free stay.
