Guest Satisfaction 0/10 I recently stayed at The Scranton Radisson, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was for its advertised Wi-Fi service, which I needed for work. However, during my stay, the Wi-Fi was completely down (This information was not disclosed to me at check-in) and I needed to check-out and work from a local Starbucks all day. What’s even more disappointing is how the staff handled the situation. I spoke to the hotel operations manager - she refused to offer any future stay compensation or reimbursement for the inconvenience. This lack of accountability and customer service left a very negative impression. While other aspects of the hotel might be fine, their unwillingness to address such a significant issue has made me question their commitment to guest satisfaction. I am also very familiar within the hotel industry, as my boyfriend is a regional manager for three major hotels in New York City. A very simple monetary gesture/future stay compensation could have been made to rectify the situation and leave me writing a positive review rather than a negative one. I would not recommend this hotel if reliable Wi-Fi and responsive customer service are important to you.

Historic beauty and modern comfort I thoroughly enjoyed my three-night stay here. The historical spaces are just beautiful, staff was uniformly pleasant and helpful, my room was clean, spacious and comfortable and breakfast at the lobby restaurant was excellent. Trax bartenders also very nice. I would note that because the hotel was fit in to a historic structure, the large window in my fifth floor room started about five feet above the floor. If you care about this you should check with the hotel -- I think the lower floors have lower windows. The hotel also seems a bit thinly staffed; no housekeeping at night and never more than one person at reception. But I would happily stay here again and enjoy the historic, site-specific personality.

Just "OK" This was the most "OK" experience at a hotel that I have had. The building was pretty and the random train station benches were a unique touch, as a nod to the building's previous life as a train station. That said, everything was average. The parking, especially in the back, left a bit to be desired. The rooms were fine, but not especially large or bright or with an abundance of charging options. The restaurants were sufficient, but nothing about which be excited. It was certainly not worth the cost.

Disgusted. Radisson cancelled our rooms (booked 7months earlier) because they overbooked. We booked at this hotel 7 months before our supposed stay. Our son was in the wedding party and we booked two rooms for two nights (Friday 9/27 & Saturday 9/28). The rehearsal dinner was taking place there and all the guests would be staying there. On Thursday night I was checking my spam folder and there I saw an email that my reservation was canceled by the hotel. It was sent on Wednesday. After calling the hotel I was told that my reservations were cancelled because they were over booked (later heard it might have been by 30 rooms). Supposedly a “computer system error”. They said they were sorry and gave us a number of another hotel (which was 5 miles away—on the highway). That was it. Nothing other than “we are sorry”. There were 6 other rooms from our wedding that were also “cancelled”. All last minute—no phone call. My husband stopped by the desk that weekend, left his name and number for the manager to call him and again … nothing! So beware when booking this hotel. My understanding is that they’ve done this before. So much unnecessary stress for the families of the wedding. Shameful Radisson…you should have done better.

A Renovated Railroad Station Hotel With Disappointing Restaurants First of all, this review is focusing on two aspects of our visit: the Hotel experience and the dining experience. The Hotel itself is a renovation of the old Lackawanna RR station. The lobby is a jaw-dropping display of beautiful marble and lush carpets. It sports a grand piano and a beautiful fountain. To the left is the in-house restaurant, Carmen 2.0, (more on that later). In the back area is a pub. Trax, (more later). The front desk staff seemed a bit distant, with one word replies to my questions. There was no gift shop or even a rack of pamphlets highlighting local points of interest. The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Now to the dining. Our first night we decided to take our dinner in the lobby restaurant, Carmen 2.0. The table was set with fine silverware and a bright white table cloth. The menu looked enticing. My wife ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. I had the Filet Mignon. I asked for a medium. It came with a little too much red for my taste. I ate half and boxed the rest. My wife’s eggplant was, in a word, far too much for one person. I reckoned there was a full pound of pasta. The more informal Trax pub was much the same. Our pizza was heavy with cheese and a‘mild’ sauce that was anything but mild. It was beyond hot, at least for our taste. We sent it back and ordered what we thought was a more eater-friendly covering. We had to scrape away the slabs of cheese to get to the crust (no tomato sauce). The dessert of cheesecake was delicious. All in all, the hotel was fine but the dining experience left much to be desired. If you plan to stay there, I would suggest you search out other dining options.
