Truly terrific stay My husband, two daughters (3 1/2, 1 yrs old), and I traveled to Monterey and stayed on the 12th floor in one of the suites. We were absolutely blown away by ALL and I mean all of the staff at this hotel. From the front desk, house keeping, breakfast staff, bartender, and evening staff at the restaurant. I hope management values their exceptional staff and sees just how terrific everyone is-everyone went above and beyond. The hotel itself was very nice, food both morning breakfast and restaurant were exceptional, very delicious. We will definitely stay at another Embassy Suites after this experience and would stay here again. Please don't hesitate to stay here, you won't regret it. It was 10 minutes away from all the tourist attractions. My 3 1/2 year old said her favorite part about our vacation was the hotel ;) I didn't catch everyone's name but Jaci at the front desk and Christian at the morning buffet, wonderful staff.

Mold, Furniture Falling Apart, Elevators Inop Stayed here in July 2024 for a motorcycle race at Laguna Seca and definitely won’t be back. Firstly only 2/3 elevators were working for a completely sold out hotel with over 10 floors. We waited 5-10 mins each time to get an elevator with enough room for the two of us, and ended up using the stairs a few times hiking up to the eighth floor. We got to our room and found the living area table to be very tippy and falling apart, the condition of the chairs and desk were also very poor for a hotel that charged us almost $600 per night. Worst there was mold EVERYWHERE in the bathroom. (See attached photos) An absolute health hazard from a “luxury hotel.” You couldn’t pay me to stay here again.

Very dated & basic hotel bit out of town with dirty rooms We were booked this hotel for 4 nights but stayed just one then moved hotel. First room offered on the “premium” floor that I paid extra for was disgusting with many large stains all over the carpets and obvious dog hairs on balcony. This was obviously a pet room of which we had none, and was not fit to be rented out to anyone in my opinion. We moved rooms but next one not much better as old & dated with damaged furniture, lots of dirt on windows, etc. Breakfast was pretty basic and a bit chaotic. They charged $20 per night for parking and there were plenty of spaces, with a Chillys conveniently placed at far end of the lot. Hotel was not in the best of areas and a bit out of town. There was no follow up or real apology re our issues from the staff until we checked out the following morning when the young man on reception did seem to care but it was too late. Considering the very high cost of the hotel we were very disappointed and would definitely not recommend it as there are much better ones close to center of town at similar costs. We moved to the Portola Hotel & Spa Monterey and very much enjoyed it for the next 3 nights.

Lack of security and management I discovered my rental car had been damaged while parking in the hotel parking lot.Despite the $20 a day parking fee. I was dismayed to learn there is no camera in the parking area which is significance security lapse . I had to deal with police report and rental car. During this time no manager called to check if any assistance is needed. Even the car was towed they still charge me parking fee for the days that I didn’t had any car in the parking area . Very disappointed.
