Enjoyed my visit Enjoyed my visit... The hotel and staff are great! The breakfast is yummy too! Rooms are small, but nicely appointed. Really close to downtown Monterey and the beach! This is a miss stay hotel! Really like the trails and park behind the hotel.

Will not stay here again - loud and unsecured Stayed with my kids and two other families. Our rooms weren't ready more than an hour after the official check-in time, though to be fair we wanted rooms next to each other (which I called about the day before) so it was our choice to wait for the second and third rooms. All the rooms open to outdoor hallways and there are no security measures. Anyone could take the single, slow elevator or one of several open stairways to access the rooms. In fact, a very angry, seemingly mentally ill man walked through the hotel grounds, yelling and throwing things to the ground, during our stay. Our cramped rooms faced the back of the hotel and looked out over a lovely small lake. Bathrooms were tiny, especially the WC. We heard commercial aircraft taking off and landing throughout the day and night from the Monterey airport, but that was manageable. Worse were the other hotel guests who would congregate outside their rooms and in the stairwells and talk/laugh/yell/argue throughout the night. We were awoken around 2:00 a.m. the first night. I tried calling the front desk but was put directly into the hold system and never reached a live person. The voices then stopped, but I started hearing knocking on various doors. I was able to fall back asleep when our very loud AC unit kicked on and blocked the other sounds. The second night I was awoken twice, the second time at 3:00 a.m., by what appeared to be a different group of people than the first night. We also clearly heard a variety of street sounds, including people speeding, sirens, honking, etc. I heard less noise when staying in a motel room with windows opening directly onto a busy street in San Francisco. When checking out, the person in front of me also had complaints about his stay. And while I was responding to the person who checked us out about the noise issues, another guest overheard and mentioned having the same issues. I was offered $20 off our stay due to the problems we had. The breakfast (both the food and the room) were fine. Standard HIE fare, decor, and cleanliness. There is an In n Out right next door and a nice path to walk there.

Not one of Holiday Inns best Weekend trip for the family. Accommodation for our large group was within price range as it is an expensive area. The hotel staff were nice but the rooms were very disappointing. The carpets had stains. Beds did not seem like a queen size more like a full size. Water pressure was low. Remote controls were nasty in need of a deep scrub. It’s faster to take the stairs than weight for the elevator.

Clean basic lodging close to Monterey Carmel all the basics This hotel fit my needs in every way. It was convenient to major attractions without being in the middle of everything, it was clean and had free parking. Catherine at the desk was very helpful whenever I had questions. It wasn’t fancy. Just basic, but that was what I needed.

Great Place Love this place! This is a great place to stay when visiting Monterey.. From check in to the team in the breakfast room, everyone is very helpful and want to make sure you have a great stay. Rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Just wish there was another elevator.
