Sorry I stayed at a Holiday Inn again I wish I had read the reviews before I booked my very expensive room ($575 a night)) at the Holiday Inn Seattle, Lake Union. The area is very quiet- there are no restaurants around. I don't know how to describe the area- at once residential and barren and industrial. Would not feel comfortable walking around at night alone. I paid for the breakfast and I agree with the reviews- it's horrible. Its at a restaurant next door . I ordered the waffles. They were not made fresh in a waffle iron. They were out of a package they warmed in a microwave. My husband' eggs and toast equally paltry. The hotel is walking distance to the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens. You can get to the monorail or a bus easy enough and if you've got the stamina you can walk downtown. It's about a mile. There is no pool. The room was clean and air conditioning worked. My beef is that they are not customer friendly and I am an IHG member! I had a similar issue with a Holiday Inn in NJ last summer. You get No Customer satisfaction. This time although I paid for breakfast 3 days I was only able to make 1 as I had to leave for tour early and next day airport early. I asked if I could get dinner instead for same price from the restaurant. The answer was NO. No flexibility- no accommodation. That's Holiday Inn. I won't endorse them or use them anymore.

There must be somewhere better... Our room was not made up for two days (out of a three-night stay). The location is not great. Nowhere to eat or drink really except a little little joint next door, which was pretty unfriendly. (First words when walking through the door at 9:35p.m. - "We close at ten"!). The next morning we went there jet-lagged and were told we were "seven minutes late". Doors shut in our faces. The breakfasts are simply awful. Eggs are scrambled or nothing, and scrambled means cubes of dense yellow "stuff". Bacon slices have the taste and consistency of industrial swarf. Coffee or juice? Better decide because "you can't have both" with the breakfast-included option. Given how reliant this wretched place must be on Holiday Inn customers I can't believe the low quality and the lack of consideration given to their guests. The sooner it goes out of business the better. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable.

I don't want to say 200 words because I'm done typing. IF i got breakfast included and free parking...no wait. I am very angry i paid almost $300 for one night. Seattle is way too expensive
