Exploitative Pricing Practices Warning to all international travellers! I had an incredibly disappointing experience at College Inn, Seattle. Despite being a regular customer, my recent stay was marred by exploitative pricing practices. Despite pointing out the clear discrepancy and the honest mistake due to the confusion over the USD to CAD conversion, the manager, Michael, refused to offer a reasonable solution. Instead, he extended a pre-approved 20% discount on a future stay, which did nothing to offset the $224 extra we had already spent. Issues with Booking and Pricing: * Last year's rate: $225 USD per night * Booking rate made in error: $674 USD for two nights (+50%) * Avg summer rate: $249 USD for two nights (-89%) Exploitative Pricing Practices: The hotel uses a "dynamic pricing model controlled by an AI system" which, in Michael's words, is a "standard industry practice." This system seems more like an excuse for price gouging, taking advantage of customers during high-demand periods. Michael even admitted that "over 80 percent of businesses in general are using AI or making it a top priority," which he presented as a justification for their exploitative practices. Michael’s final email: “Sleeping fine knowing that a person claiming to be a loyal guest meanwhile doesn't know the owner, doesn't know me, doesn't know any of the people that work here and doesn't even book direct and has only stayed here a couple times…Quite frankly, I will sleep great knowing you will not book this hotel in the future. Now we just need you to keep and stay true to that promise.” Final Thoughts: Michael's lack of empathy and willingness to work towards a fair resolution left a sour taste. His dismissive attitude and the hotel's blatant price gouging make me warn future customers: steer clear of College Inn. Their so-called customer service is appalling, and their pricing practices are designed to exploit rather than accommodate. I won't be staying here again and suggest you look elsewhere for a more customer-centric experience.

Very cozy boutique I visited with my daughter for a college visit and it was perfect, located just in front of the UW. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The Lounge is a very nice space to have a coffee, or tea and sit to work or talk. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The only advice is if you need to arrive after hours (9 pm to 9 am), contact them in advance. I definitely will go back.

Charming, clean, convenient Clean, comfortable, convenient, College Inn was perfect for our visit to campus. We appreciated the sink in the room, and the shared bathroom was clean and spacious. It was quiet, but perhaps because it was Spring Break. Staff was friendly.

Awesome stay!!! Old hotel with so much character & history. Super comfy, great price, ridiculously clean, awesome location & kind staff. Parking was easy too & I am not a city parker. Our room had a shard bathroom & it was fine! Bathroom was crazy clean. 5 stars

Not a good stay. More of a hostel than a hotel, noisy residents, no change of towels or bedlinen even after 6 days. Only good point easy access to university which was why I was there. Had another booking for May which I have now cancelled on my experience this week.
