Needs a better management The room had a clogged shower sink, and the receptionist was rude to take the report of the problem. The room was very noisy because of the yard work noise in the early morning. The housekeeper was knocking the door for checking every morning, since there was no "don't bother" sign left.

Very disappointing, not up to Best Western. To begin with, I usually stay at Best Western or Best Western Plus hotels, so my comparison is based on my previous experiences, which have always been excellent until now. Every Best Western Plus I’ve stayed at so far has included at least one of the following perks: complimentary breakfast, an in-room microwave, and free secured parking. But here, none of that was available. On top of the relatively high room price (understandable since it’s Los Angeles), we were directed to a restaurant next door that was decent but quite expensive. Since we were used to having a microwave in our room, we asked if it was normal that there wasn’t one and whether it was possible to get one. We were told, “Yes of course, we’ll bring one to you,” with no further explanation—only to discover at the end of our stay that it was charged per day. Just a few dollars, but it still felt like a hidden fee. Parking was also paid ($13 per night) and not secured. Homeless people were wandering around the entrance all night, which made it hard for me to sleep peacefully. Speaking of this, you’re not actually staying in a hotel here, but a motel—with rooms opening directly to the outside and very poor sound insulation. To finish, the bathroom outlets didn’t work. The safe didn’t work. The iron didn’t work. Nothing to say about the cleanliness, which was great, nor about the location itself, which is close to Los Angeles, its main attractions, and Universal Studios. Overall, it’s not a terrible property, but all these small issues put together leave a strong feeling of disappointment.

Uncomfortable bed, not very clean, parking fees, no breakfast Awful sleep quality - uncomfortable bed, mattress was way too firm (not good for side sleepers), and pillows are tiny and flimsy. We've stayed at several Best Western hotels throughout the years, and they've been pretty consistent (in terms of the basics - cleanliness, comfort, safety, free parking, and hot breakfast). The location was well lit and clean outside; however, the carpet in our room wasn't vacuumed as there were crumbs on the carpet. The staff were very nice. No free parking and no free breakfast. This location "nickel and dimes" their customers. We didn't need one, but I saw a sign saying they charge a $5 fee if you want a microwave in your room. Who does that??? I'm guessing they want guests to eat at the Denny's next door. I don't recommend this particular Best Western. We should've stayed at Hampton Inn (2 blocks away).

Excellent, except for longer stays with pets Overall, a great hotel, especially given its price range. They allow pets, which is rare in the area, and perfect for people traveling through. They also not only allow cats, but don't require them to have all feet declawed and travel with a letter from their veterinarian certifying they are. Their pet fees are also very reasonable when compared to other hotels in the area. In our case, staff communication in terms of the changes having a pet in the room made to usual hotel policies was both conflicting and very poor. We weren't aware management staff were unhappy housekeeping didn't have enough access to the room--we weren't even aware of the frequency of required visits. It's impossible to follow rules we don't know about, so if you are traveling with a pet, be sure and ask for a thorough rundown of how a pet's presence changes staff's ability to enter the room, how often entry is required, what the nightly pet fee is (there are two prices on their front page--currently the lower price is correct), and so on. Other than that, the location has a lot of pros: the facility is clean and well-lit, the pool is in good condition, the rooms are clean with comfortable bedding and quality towels, and the staff are friendly and responses are prompt. The TVs have the ability to stream just about anything, as well. But possibly most importantly? Ample parking, which is rare in Los Angeles.
