Not up to par Up until now the Lodge has been our favorite place to stay whenever we traveled to Sonoma, which we have done quite ofter over the years. Unfortunately, the property is no longer being well maintained. Our room had several areas that had fresh unpainted spakle. The new outdoor fireplace never worked even after repeated repair attempts by the onsite engineer. The pool was often dirty, and to make matters worse, the runoff created by the crew pressure washing the pool deck added to the problem. Although the staff was friendly and seemed to be concerned about all the little things that didn't go well, the front desk failed to tell us that there was a $125 charge to reserve a pool side cabana. All in all, the property didn't measure up to what we have come to expect. We have booked a September stay but are now considering alternatives.

Horrible service and an environmental disaster - they should be fined! It was virtually impossible to get anyone to answer including prior to our stay, during our stay as well as after our stay. For the amount of money spent here, service should have been impeccable, instead it was some of the worst ever. Moreover, their environmental practices were non-existent. There was more plastic waste generated in the one afternoon we spent by the pool then I think I've ever seen- all this during what is clearly the time to be not only becoming aware, but acting responsibly. Nothing was recycled and everything was plastic. It was criminal.

Don’t waste your money You might think this is like other hotels with good brand names in the area, but don’t waste your money. The service is terrible. Need bedding for the pull out chair, it took an hour to get delivered. The bedding on it was dirty. The pool is a dumpster fire on a busy weekend. Running out of towels. Chairs reserved by people holding them but not present while other guests sit on concrete. The staff is insulting when you explain your disappointment. I’d recommend virtually any other hotel than this one.

Pleasantly suprised I was very worried after reading all the poor reviews, but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with our stay. I knew prior checking in that we would not have housekeeping and the hotel was understaffed. This was evident during our stay but I felt the staff was doing their best given the circumstances. Everyone was friendly to us and we did get an upgrade to a cottage which was a nice bonus. Overall, I felt it was a nice stay because we knew what to expect going into it.

Fantastic stay! Wow, what a great stay! I seriously had my doubts going in, reviews on here, Marriott site and Google really had me second guessing. I’m not sure why because the place is fantastic. We were told prior to arrival that we had been upgraded to a cottage. We arrived at 2:00 (on a Sunday) assuming the room wouldn’t be ready, it wasn’t, so we changed and went out to the pool. My observations Check In - I checked back around 4:00 and they basically let me pick the room/cottage (upstairs or down) and then explained all the amenities… the breakfast plus afternoon drink vouchers. Room - A regular king room with a nice bathroom and shower. We didn’t try the fireplace. The best part was the secluded patio. The cons were only 3 drawers and 10 hangers for our clothes. Pool - we used it a couple times and really enjoyed it. You could order lunch or drinks from the bar (or food truck) and they would bring it to your chair…quickly! There were some kids some days. Never had an issue getting a lounger. The loungers were the thick bed type. Breakfast- never more than a 5 min wait to order and never more than 5 minutes for them to bring the food out. The first 2 days we had tours that we had a pick up time and was concerned about the timing of the orders, but it was never an issue. Extras - There was complimentary coffee in the lobby each morning and tons of complimentary bikes to use whenever, just a great feel to The Lodge…we would go back in a heartbeat!
