Americana Resort is a five star vacation. Everything you hope a resort to be when you check in, comes thru in spades. Great place for a wonderful vacation. It was the little things that really stood out.

Super cute dog friendly hotel that is close to everything! Super cute hotel! Dog friendly, clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's only a 15 minute walk to Heavenly Village, and close to so many things. The room setup is unique and very comfortable. One of the best hotel rooms we have even stayed in. We loved how homey if felt, and our dog especially loved the layout, made her feel more comfortable once she got used to it. Only negative that we have is that there is NO Air Conditioning. There are fans to help with that. And given that Tahoe isn't hot too many days in the year, I can see why this wouldn't normally be a big deal. But in July, it was a bit warm in the room. We couldn't keep the door open because of our dog, so we had to rely on the open windows and fans when we were in the room.

Convenient location, beautiful and welcoming property, but no AC Very charming two-story motel-style lodging along the same street as many other motels. Safe and convenient - only 12-15 min walk to Heavenly gondola and shops. Can’t tell if it’s because we stayed over July 4th long weekend or if the decorations are always there because the place is called “The Americana”, but there were lots of beautiful America flag decor and flowers all around the property, which gave it a very cozy, homey, welcoming feel compared to the other motels along the same street. Lots of lawn chairs and BBQ grills on the lawns in front of the units. There were lots of people lounging on the lounge chairs at night when it got cooler. The swimming pool with small hot tub and sauna are by the front desk. There’s also free popcorn and filtered water machine at front desk and in the breakfast area, accessible during their hours of operation. Parking is limited to 1 car per unit, and it’s right in front of each unit. It can seem crowded but I was always able to find a spot any time of the day because of this limit. The activity area (just outside the small breakfast area on the opposite side of the property of the front desk) has lots of fun outdoor games (plastic axe throwing, corn hole, horseshoe toss, tetherball, ping pong, etc.). Board games and other games can be borrowed from the breakfast area. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast daily from 7am-9am: assorted Safeway donuts, bread (+jam, butter, cream cheese), hard boiled eggs, Quaker oatmeal (assorted flavors), fruit (oranges and bananas), drinks (coffee, tea, water, juices). To keep things clean/sanitary, you tell the staff what you want and the staff will serve you. The indoor breakfast area is quite small but the outdoor seating areas are spacious. Room: also very charming, cozy, and well appointed for a motel-style property, but unfortunately we went during a weekend when it was over 90F in Tahoe and the rooms did not have AC, so we were a bit miserable in the heat. The rooms all have plenty of fans (at least in "Building 3" where I was at) — ceiling fan in the living room area, portable remote-controlled standing fan in the bedroom/dining area, and portable box fan in the closet that we saw a lot of other guests put against their window (which they can open all the way) to force the cooler night air in. The door to each unit can also be propped open, and each unit comes with a mosquito screen/net in one of the drawers that you can unroll and hang on your door jamb if you want to keep the door open but not let the bugs in. For the room type I booked, the living room has a couch that can be turned into an inflatable bed (ie. sofabed). Instructions are in the binder that’s on the coffee table in the room. There’s an accordion-style curtain divider that can be used to separate the living room area and the bedroom/dining/bathroom area. The accordion curtain divider is semi-blackout (light filtering) to block out a good amount of the light from the windows by the living room area, since the windows have wooden blinds (not shutters) that don’t block out all of the light. The room was very clean, and the very large mirror behind the sofabed made the room feel a lot larger, which is nice. In my unit there were lots of dressers to store your stuff. There’s a mini fridge, mini kitchenette, and small microwave if you want to do some light-weight heating of food. The dining area was at the foot of the bed. The bathroom was very small and dated, but very clean. Housekeeping doesn’t come every day of your stay unless you request it. There were also two large-screen TVs, one in the living room area and one in the bedroom area. The rooms were not too large but they made very good use of the space they have. It’s nostalgic of 1980’s style homes with its decor and lighting. The furniture and colors are very cohesive and cozy-looking. Pets are allowed on property (not sure about inside the rooms), and there were a lot of barking dogs in the lawn area during our stay. Quiet hours are between 10pm-8am, and surprisingly (and thankfully) I didn’t hear any barking during quiet hours. Front desk was only open from 7am-9pm, but there’s an after-hours emergency phone number in the binder on the coffee table in each unit. Overall, The Americana Village felt like a homey, well-maintained motel-style property with lots of outdoor activities. It was a nice retreat from city life.

We've been coming here for 40 years! This is a nice place to stay; convenient location, clean and well kept with friendly staff. We own timeshare here but there are vacancies for nightly rental, too. We have a studio unit which is small but adequate, especially if you don't plan on doing much cooking. The kitchen has a good sized refrigerator, dishwasher below the sink, two cooking burners and utensils, dishes, etc. but the area of the kitchen is quite small. There is an ice machine in the gym/laundry room and the use of laundry is free--just need to buy soap at the office. Available every morning are juices, coffee, cereal, milk, donuts, hard cooked eggs, breads, jelly, peanut butter, cream cheese and fruit. Popcorn is available all day. We were allowed to refill our own water jug from the water cooler at the office. . Order in delivery is available but there are many restaurants near enough and the casinos are really close by, too.

Paradise tucked away… Americana Village is not a fancy resort, but it’s been our home away from home one week each summer for 18 years. It has everything we need and our daughters take full advantage of the DVDs, board games, crafts, tetherball, bikes, pool, and event nights.
