Unlike a Westin This location is quite different from other Westins. Garage locatiom is not convenient at all. Claims to have valet parking, but only one guy running around looking bewildered. The staff is not the friendliness in the world either. And the hotel really needs to be upgraded.

Very Good Hotel I would like to give the newly renovated Marriott Southfield and its staff five stars. However, I must give an overall rating of four stars, as the shortage of people to fill jobs at hotels in the Detroit area resulted in no one ever coming to my room to empty the trash. Nonetheless, every other aspect of the hotel was very clean. Also, Jenny and Noah at the reception made my Marriott experience a pleasure.

Not What I Expected I came home for a few days. We selected Westin since we use Marriott a lot. Regrettably, I was a bit disappointed in my visit. The staff wasn’t as friendly as other Marriott hotels Our room fluctuates between hot and cold. It wasn’t spacious or it didn’t seem as spacious as other Westin’s I’ve visited. Nor did they provide breakfast but I believe that is standard for Westin. It’s elegantly designed. I believe it’s one of their best designs. It’s very close to i696 so you can hit all the major highways quickly. Closed to 696. They have a very nice pool. I encourage you to check them out. I’m going to give them another try when I go back on a few months. Let me know your thoughts.

Ok but won’t be back We stayed here 2 nights in a King room with a sofa bed. Check in was quick and the lobby and public spaces were nice. When we got to the room we noticed there were no linens for the sofa bed which is no big deal but the line to guest services would not work so we had to go down to the front desk. There were several requests and issues that we continually had to go to the front desk for where I would have expected to be able to call guest services for or even text someone, but neither was an option. Also the AC did not work initially and had troubles keeping the room cool during our stay. The beds were very hard and the overall cleanliness was not what I hoped for. Overall the room was a little run down and dingy. I stayed here using points but I would not come back especially if I had to pay for the room.

Good Westin Property My travel schedule is picking back up despite COVID, I stay at this property weekly for a new office we have in Southfield, hotel is very convenient to office. Checkin was smooth, Bonvoy status recognized and room upgraded. Due to low occupancy they are allowing you to park right up front in the valet section which is very convenient. The hotel is taking all the practical steps for safety due to COVID; hand sanitizer, social distancing, low touch experience, etc. The furniture in my suite was a bit worn but not extreme, still overall a nice experience. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable like it usually is with Westin. They did provide 2 sanitizer pads by the coffee which was a nice touch, remote was sanitized, etc. There does seem to be an issue with the HVAC units as my last few stays the AC has not been cold or had issues maintaining comfortable temperature, luckily the windows open to outside so nighttime was comfortable. Wifi is quick to connect and very fast, probably one of the better wifi experiences I've had lately. Onsite restaurant has a reduced menu but good food and service, very convenient after a long day and needing to relax. I will continue to stay here when Im in Southfield!
