Refuses to refund a 15 min booking I reserved the room had my trip canceled literally in 15 mins. Sent a request to cancel within that 15 min. I can’t believe they had multiple denials for a room in 15 min. They refused to refund my request to cancel. Money is hard to come by these days without having companies like these who steal the money from you. If you are vacationing to south port I would strongly suggest you find other accommodations. This place is not ethical by any means.

Poor Stay Although there are a lot of nice amenities at this hotel like treats, lobby coffee, and a nice breakfast, the rooms have roaches. When brought to the attention of staff, the lack of communication was terrible. I guess I should have read more reviews because this roach problem is not new. For the last 2 nights we were moved to a different room, one that was near a back stairwell. The stairwell and exit door is heavily used for the many contractors who stay there, and even with a noise deflector, the sound is horrible. For my three night stay, $36 was deducted from my bill. Also, the location is only truly accessible from one direction on the busy highway. You will have to find a place to make a U turn to access when coming from the other direction. I spent the rest of my trip worrying that I would bring roaches to my home.

SCOTT, the front desk Manager. When one travels on family matters it is seldom that someone is as kind and understanding as Scott was to my oldest brother and me. We just needed a bit of privacy to go over some things out of earshot of our wives. Scott allowed us to visit briefly in the meeting area of the front lobby while our wives were elsewhere shopping. I asked that Scott allow us a few minutes to visit together and because it worked well we had some very candid and much-needed discussion for about a half hour. Scott is a very kind man and my brother, suffering from early Alzheimers, really felt his kindness and that made a big difference to our communications on August 18. We deeply appreciate Scott and pray that God will bless him.

Do you like hot water in your room? Do not stay at this hotel if you want hot water in your room. We checked in June 9th and did not realize till 8pm that we had no hot water; neither did the room directly across the hall that we rented for family members. We informed the desk clerk but they could do nothing due to the time and the hotel being completely booked. The next morning the desk clerk informed us that this was a known issue and assured us that we would receive a 50% discount, she just needed to clear it with management. Of course management would not agree to this and offered us a $50 discount. We paid $1,000 for 2 rooms for 3 nights. Checking out was not an option as we had 7 people in our party and there we no other hotels in the area with availability. We later learned from reviews that this issue had been going on since May 19th. Several other guests reported not having hot water. We called corporate to report the issue and after being on the phone for 2 hours, we got a $400 refund. This hotel is preparing food, cleaning rooms and washing linens with no hot water. I don't understand how they can keep renting rooms while knowing about the water issue. We should have been informed of this issue at check-in. Cleanliness is very lacking. I had to ask for paper towels for the ladies room and toilet paper for our room. The noise level was off the charts due to barking dogs and unsupervised children running in the corridors. I would not stay at this hotel again....even if the rooms were free!

Disappointing Stay This was my first time at this hotel and it was very disappointing. The room itself was not clean. There were stains on the pillowcase, holes in the sheets, left over bottle caps on the floor from previous guests. Black gunk came out of the tub faucet when I went to use the shower. Before I went to bed, there were bugs flying all round the A/C and hanging onto the curtains. Some of those bugs were also hanging out on the bed which I had to kill. I went to the front desk to see if I could move rooms and was told they were sold out so I had no options. I worked in hotels for years so I understood this and accepted it. This front desk rep was apologetic which was appreciated and he offered to take off half my room rate which would be reflected on my receipt. The next morning, I went down to the front desk and this rep, who was the night auditor since it was about 6:30am, was much less pleasant than the evening rep. I asked her about the update on my receipt and she said there were no notes left about my issues and that she could not take off half. When asked why, she didn't really have an answer. I asked her why I would be told that and she didn't know either. She eventually offered to take off $50 which is fine but was not concerned that I did not have a good stay. It was as if I was bothering her by asking for assistance. Again, I worked in hotels (housekeeping & front desk) so I understand how all this works but I also know that guests' issues should be acknowledged. I had initially planned to make this hotel a frequent stop this summer but I will have to choose somewhere else to stay due to lack of cleanliness and the staff. I would suggest that if one rep is offering a guest half off their stay, it should be honored. Or just don't offer that at all if it's not something that can be done.
