Just right A very beautiful place. Exceptional maintained. The grounds and facilities very clean. We stayed 2 nights in a 24 foot RV. Went for a trail ride with Lacey. She was a joy to be with and made the ride safe and enjoyable. I highly recommend this place and we will return.

Whispering Pines, whisper no more Whispering Pines Cabins are no longer surrounded by pines or trees of any sort. It was a real disappointment to arrive at the resort and see our cabins baking in the hot July sun, when we were looking forward to some cool shade among the trees. The back porch was unusable because it was in the sun just about all day. Thank goodness the cabin was air conditioned. The manager explained that the trees were diseased and had to come down and they were going to plant more. It would have been nice to know that before we checked in, along with the fact that the internet cable had been ripped up by the construction equipment which affected the wifi and TV. The manager did take off a day's lodging amount for the problems.

We all loved it! We've been here before and knew we'd have fun again. The teens always enjoy the horseback riding! The fishing was non existent, so we didn't bother with our poles. While we ended up not doing the tubing, we saw MANY other people enjoying the river. We love our little cabin getaway in NC! Everyone who works here is AMAZING, a shout out to KateLynn our horseback guide (and her helper, Christy I believe?) We stay here as our basecamp for our NC gem hunting. It's beautiful! The hiking is one of our favorite things to do as well. We hope to go back again!

Beautiful property in the mountains We enjoyed a cool getaway in the mountains. A wonderful, and large piece of property, with lots of hiking/horse trails, a river running through and waterfalls. The mountain views are beautiful, and it is peaceful to watch the horses in the pastures, or take a trail ride. There is constant upkeep going on to the many trails, roads and cabins. The cabin we stayed in was fine- it was a cabin and not much more. It was clean and we were able to cook and get wifi. The campground is nicely wooded and has a great bathhouse. Cute downtown Spruce Pine is about 15 twisty minutes driving away, and has a nice restaurant or two. It is close to many great other hiking spots, but we found no need to leave the property.

Riverfront chalet romantic mountain getaway Great property great value! With the gurgle of the river, scenery, privacy & herd of beautiful horses in the field below we didn't want to leave the rocking chairs on the porch of our beautiful cabin. It was soo relaxing. A variety of great food options are close by in Spruce Pine. The stocked ponds guarantee anyone a trout diner & for more challenging fishing the whole valley of private riverfront is an anglers dream. We loved to take a walk on the really neat dirt road that follows the river to the tubing launch each evening. The cabins are very nice and the staff is super helpful & attentive. We had great little nearby side trips to the NC Mining Museum, gem mine tours, BRP scenic overlooks, Linville falls & a day trip to tour the Biltmore/Asheville an hour away. We didn't get to the horse rides or tubing this time but will be back too for sure.
