Great choice Not much to add compared to other excellent reviews but we really enjoyed our stay here. We booked the base non golf view room and as expected got a view of the parking lot but the room was so comfortable, bathroom was large and I really appreciated the TV channel selection as I was able to watch NFL games. Short 5 minute walk to main part of town and was able to self park my car for free in the hotels lot. Breakfast was in a lovely room overlooking the 17th hole. Jigger Inn served up some great pub food. All staff encountered were friendly and gave us some good suggestion's as to dining and where to stop for lunch on a road trip we were taking.

A major champion still has to work hard to stay on top. Resting on its Laurels we believe! We booked the best available rates a couple of weeks out but noticed the hotel were offering much better deals for our dates which we were not advised of. We asked to amend the deal but were told no until we pointed out we were within the cancellation period. So we got the new deal which included a restaurant voucher for 110£ and the room was cheaper. The Road Hold afternoon bar experience was poor and it was very difficult to order another drink. Those guys missed a tip but maybe they don’t share the tips or don’t care! The room was not serviced during our stay but as we were only there for two nights that was not a disaster. The Jigger staff and service was above and beyond and they made the trip. Reception staff were also excellent. Unlikely to return until the 5 star service does.

Not a Golfer We chose to stay here as twelve months prior hubby had his 50th birthday trip here with three friends. He wanted to share the “home of golf” experience with me. Whilst I am not a golfer, the hotel was beautiful and views of the course, just stunning. You can’t help but feel the prestige and history of the area when you’re walking around this hotel property. Cannot fault the property in anyway.

Absolutely impeccable This was the best hotel experience I have ever had. The staff was on spot with customer service and very friendly. The amazing breakfast is served in the most beautiful restaurant with views of the 17th green of the old course. The other restaurants are great. We had a golfer massage in the spa that really was the best experience. This is a five star experience across the board.

A Real Disappointmenr Have stayed many times and never really had an issue until this time. I have a feeling that St Andrews can’t fail as the golf drives the huge visitor numbers and I expect many are oblivious to what good value and quality are. We, four of us, played golf and I wanted to take my three guests to this hotel to see the view from the bar and have a drink. We weee t residents as the golf outing arranged other accommodation. We arrived and were presented with a drinks list which for wine was very limited. 3 white wines by the glass. Our waiter seemed to have a ‘don’t give a **** attitude’ and ‘found’ a complete wine list for us. We chose the white Rioja and sat back and waited. After about 15 minutes I asked him if it was coming. After a total of 30 plus minutes he came back to tell us that they hadn’t got any. Apparently Ha Ha they’d just run out. Why so long to tell us. No comment. We asked for some nibbles and received two very small egg cup sort of sized portions. Pathetic. So we went through he wine list again and chose a wine which a guest recommended at £88 a bottle. I know the mark ups are high and happy with that. Ir arrived with glasses and he opened the bottle (screw top) and poured out 4 glasses with no option to taste. Cheers everyone, having been there about 3/4 hour and …….. the wine was warm - never been in a fridge. I was losing the plot by this time, and my guests were very unimpressed by the whole scenario. I asked this waiter why the wine was not cold and he didn’t know and couldn’t give a damn. I would normally go and find a manager or ask for one but wasn’t going to do this with business guests in tow. The waiter went away and got two pint glasses of ice for the wine - a crime to all of us - and the chucked two bags of crisps onto the table. Nothing to put them in and total disinterest. Never again. You embarrassed me in front of three business clients and the actions in the bar were below anything I’ve witnessed in the Old Course before. Awful.
