La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham St. Augustine

Terrible hotel The room and 1st floor smell awful. Mildew and mold all over windows. The sinks in bathroom were clogged. Gross! We told them but they did nothing. The pool lights don't work and was told by a desk rep that the pool closes at 10 then a different night a rep told me it closes at dark. What hotel closes their pool at dark? The exercise equipment was broken. Landscaping around hotel needs work. Faucet was slow flow. DO NOT STAY HERE. Go to a business that actually has pride and cares.

Guests with pets have more rights than other guests. We made a reservation online and asked to stay on the top floor so that we would not be near pets as this is a pet-friendly hotel. We like to stay at La Quinta’s as they are usually quiet and the beds are comfortable. They did comply and put us on the top floor, however there was a family on that floor with 3 dogs in their room. We complained to the front desk and were told they were full that night and when that happens they allow pets on floors other than the designated area (first floor) and in rooms that are not designated for pets (which to me means they don’t care about guests with allergies). The clerk said “they are clear down the hall from you.” These were not well behaved, quiet dogs. When with the owners, they were barking and when the owners weren’t present, they barked even more. At 6:30am the owners went to breakfast and left the dogs in the room, so they of course were barking and disturbing other guests. If putting pets on other floors in non pet designated rooms is now La Quinta/Wyndham’s policy, we will not be staying at La Quinta again. This was the second time in a week that we had this problem in a La Quinta while traveling.

Basic Mostly clean but not great. Room was as expected. Fridge, AC & microwave worked well. Pool was freezing. Good location in St Augustine. It served it’s purpose but I wouldn’t want to stay for more than a night or 2.

Everything about this motel is minimum effort. Not a good experience. Motel failed in every category. Everything about this motel is minimum effort including quality and maintenance of facilities to accommodating guests at check in. Tacked on expensive fees at check in that were not revealed when non refundable reservations were made. Room smelled like wet soil or beets?

Great stay Staff was friendly and efficient with check-in process. There is a HOT breakfast available, including trays of eggs and sausage, along with the ability to make your own waffles. The food was well stocked and fresh. Rooms were comfortable and clean.
