Great place to stay Jason and Rene were so very responsive and helpful. Great location and such a roomy place to stay. The casita was very well appointed and clean. It had everything you could need. Pool was beautiful as are the grounds. My husband had a massage with Crystal which he said was amazing at the spa next door. Loved the shower and bathtub. We had unit 42

Awful Dirty. The second day at the facility we were locked out because the keypad ran out of batteries. The room was very dirty. The pool was dirty and filled with overpowering chlorine. The laundry room was dirty and the machines were broken and stained our clothes. The fitness center was dirty. The facility was poorly maintained. Avoid at all costs. I can't believe this place is still in business.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! AWARE OF HOST JP ON AIRBNB, SCAM! DO NOT STAY HERE! THE HOST JP IS RUDE AND NOT WILLING TO HELP! THE LISTING IS MIS-ADVERTISED! THE PROPERTY IS OUTDATED AND NOT SAFE! ALL THE ROOMS HAVE THE SAME ENTRY CODE! READY FULL REVIEW TO FIND OUT WHY!! There was plastic water bottle trash on the patio upon entering the unit. The apartment smelled so strongly like cat piss or cat litter that we needed to air out the apartment the entire first night. The towels in the house all smelled like cigarette smoke, so badly, it was gross, and not comfortable. The bathroom in the king-size bedroom had a broken light so you needed to keep the door open to be able to see. The shower in this bathroom had the weakest water pressure and the hot water took forever to turn on. Not the greatest shower experience. There was hand soap but not any shampoo, body wash, or conditioner. The bedroom doors are glass with the curtains taken off, so guests can completely see into the bedrooms with no privacy. The bathroom in the other bedroom with two queens had a toilet with a broken flush. We had to not use this toilet because it would not stop flushing itself all night long. There was only half a roll of paper towels in the kitchen and 0 napkins other than that, which made eating and cleaning more difficult. The fireplace is completely for show with no obvious way to turn it on or directions too. There was no oil, salt, pepper, or anything to season or help with cooking other than pots and pans. The pictures of the tennis court are outdated and do not show you how unplayable the tennis court is because of cracks in the court and overgrown weeds. The door to get into the pool was very difficult to open and the alarm kept going off when we would try to open it correctly with the right passcode. The door even got stuck for us and some other guests, and we had to barge it open to get out. Here is the worst part of this stay and why I would recommend no one stay at the Amira resort. The pool code was strangely the same as our room code. I didn’t think too much of it until later that night. A woman just entered our Airbnb thinking it was hers (she was staying close and didn’t see the room number in the dark). The reason she was fully able to enter our Airbnb was because she used the same passcode that we used, that everyone used for the pool, that it seemed from what she said, was the same passcode for all the rooms. I felt so uncomfortable and not safe sleeping in an Airbnb that other guests can enter because their room has the same passcode. Never have I ever heard of a hotel where the rooms have the same passcode. It isn’t done because it is lazy and not safe. I would not recommend this Airbnb. Definitely not a comfortable or safe feeling.

Subpar This was a weird experience. you have to call to book and then I had to call back to get instructions on how to get into the unit. it did seem like something from the twilight zone as other reviewers have indicate. when I arrived at the unit it was a little bit bigger than a normal hotel room. It did have an old smell to it. There was either a stain or something spilled on the wall. The unit is just old. For the price it was not worth it.

A Vacation Rental without a Kitchen (But Still Nice) Amira recently changed from a staffed resort to strictly vacation rentals. We were here 1 1/2 years ago when it was a staffed resort. Now, it's a vacation rental with each unit owned by investors but managed by Red Rock Vacation Rentals. The problem is, this place wasn't designed to be vacation rental friendly. I own one in Sedona so I know what a vacation rental should offer its guests. Amira is in a residential neighborhood with no restaurants, bars or grocery stores. There are no food options on property so you will have to go out to get food. As a side note, there also weren't any food options when we stayed here before. That's just the way it is. The rooms are large and spacious -- the biggest fault is they are lacking kitchens. Every vacation rental I've ever stayed in has had a kitchen, even if only a basic one. There is a small refrigerator, older microwave and hot kettle in each room along with a K-Cup coffee maker. No cooktop, no large fridge and no place to prepare food. Prior to selling these as vacation rentals, I really wish they would have added small kitchenettes and a place outside to BBQ. My guess it was probably sold "as is" due to poor occupancy. The last time we were here was in September 2018 and there was hardly anyone here. OK, here are some specifics: PROS It's Quiet - There are about 50 rooms and there are only about 5 are occupied this week as far as I can tell. I don't know if it is because of COVID or just the time of the year, but it's a ghost town. I like that part but for some it could be considered a con. If you like privacy, you'll get it here. No screaming kids at the adults only pool either. Yay! Amira offers two large pools (one adult, one kid-friendly) and a hot tub - Nice pool facilities but wish there were more covered areas with fans as it was 107 here today. Clean Rooms and Grounds - With the exception of the pool water, both the grounds and rooms are very clean. I was shocked at how clean the room was. Nice job housekeeping! Pool had lots of greasy film and bugs floating on it with no skimmer to clean it myself. The 1-bedroom has a large outdoor patio/deck which plenty of room to relax. Pets are Welcome - It's alway nice to bring our dog with us. Make sure you ask for a pet friendly unit. Pet fee not bad. There is a nice park at the bottom of the hill (5 minute drive) where you can walk your pup. Nice Gym and Guest Laundry Area CONS The biggest drawback -- Not a vacation rental friendly place. No luggage carts, no kitchen or cooking area in the room and no BBQ area outside. The room has a small basic fridge and an old microwave. There are no instructions in the room for accessing WiFi. No food or beverage options on site or nearby. Just a few staff members wondering around during the day. Pool water dirty and pool chairs were falling apart and hard to operate. Pool towels in the room are horrible and don't cover the chairs. Had to buy some in town because I hate bad pool towels. Not in a Commercial Location - You'll need to drive to town for grocery shopping, food and beverage. It's about 15 minutes. BAD BED!!!! The bed mattress is really saggy on the sides and extremely uncomfortable. This place does not have heavenly beds, that's for sure. If your primary requirement is a good bed, I'd skip this place. No daily housekeeping option. No robes (we brought our own tho). Spa is closed but assuming its due to COVID. In short, they are promoting this as a vacation rental property when it isn't equipped to be one. Since our last visit, I've noticed the human/service touch is gone. Being here is almost like being in the twilight zone. :( Adding small kitchens in the rooms, a BBQ area and some nice pool furniture/towels would help to bring more life to this place. I wouldn't buy one of these units as an investment until this was done.
