The Westin St. John Resort

Worst Westin Experience Ever My family and I recently stayed at the Westin St. John Resort Villas for our 10-year wedding anniversary, and it was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had. While we loved the beauty of St. John itself, our stay at the Westin was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The issues began right at check-in, where the front desk staff, particularly an employee named Haile, were shockingly rude and unprofessional. We arrived promptly at 3pm, the advertised check-in time, only to be told by Haile that our room wouldn't be ready until 7pm. When we explained that we had luggage and couldn't wait around town for hours, Haile dismissively told us "that's not my problem, come back later." She ignored us as she chatted with her friends behind the counter, and even rolled her eyes when we mentioned it was our anniversary. We ended up having to wait until nearly 7pm to finally get into our room, missing the beautiful sunset from the Windmill Bar that we had been looking forward to. And even then, the room was clearly dirty, with signs it had been smoked in. To make matters worse, we never received any housekeeping or turnover service during our stay. When it came time to check out, we called down to the front desk to request a receipt, which the staff promised to email to us. However, three weeks later, I am still desperately trying to get a copy of the receipt, as the bill seems much higher than anticipated and I have no idea what we could have possibly been charged for. The way we were treated by the Westin staff, especially Haile at the front desk, completely ruined what should have been a wonderful anniversary trip. I have never experienced such unprofessional, rude, and incompetent service at a hotel before. I would caution anyone considering a stay at the Westin St. John Resort Villas, as it was the worst hotel experience of our lives. The beautiful location of St. John could not make up for the absolute disarray and terrible customer service we encountered at this resort.

Another great trip Another beautiful trip to the Westin St John, staff was wonderful, especially Ms. Francis, I can’t say enough good things. Everything was excellent! Food at Lemongrass, food at the beach. We were happy to see Neil our favorite golf cart driver!

Use the safe in your room for any valuables. There were some nice things but the reason for the average review is a ring was taken from my room--- it was on the night stand one moment and gone the next-- and staff looked to see-- it had not "fallen" on the ground. When I reported it I was passed to the hotel's insurance company who said I needed "proof" it was stolen. As I don't set up cameras to spy on staff in my room I didn't have"proof" and was denied the claim. If you go, use the safe lock box in the room for any valuables.
