Boutique means old This hotel has its pluses and minuses. Pluses: great location a couple of blocks from downtown, located on a quiet street. Good WiFi and airconditioning. Keurig coffee maker in room. The hotel was quiet, but I wasn't there on a Friday when the saxophonist held forth, as mentioned in previous reviews. Minuses: the hotel advertises itself as "boutique" which I think is Florida hotel-speak for "old." And it is old. As such many modern amenities such as refrigerator, large screen TV, spacious rooms are lacking. The rooms (mine was king standard) are tiny and the bathroom even smaller with almost a complete lack of shelves. There was a noticeable scent when you entered the room as alluded to in earlier reviews but I did not find it objectionable. Bottom line: I wouldn't stay here if I had my lady with me, but as a solo traveler, it met all my needs: good location, quiet, acceptably clean, coffee maker in room, and a relative bargain in the over-priced world of St. Petersburg hotels during peak season.

Stay Far Away from this Hotel Stay away from this hotel. It is outdated and dirty. Most of the rooms have no fridges, except the suites. The elevator has been out service for months. The bed in the room that I was staying was full of hair. I have called Expedia and complained, tried the front desk , but they didn’t pick up the phone. The closet was full of spiders webs and dead spiders _️. See pics attached.

Nope. The moment I walked into to this hotel, I knew I had made a mistake. The front desk staff was so beyond rude. No smile. On her phone while she checked me in. As a single woman and solo traveler, I just got a strange vibe from this place. Then I got up to the room. The plug next to the bed didn't work when I tried to charge my phone. The room smelled strongly of ammonia and I immediately got a headache. I tried to receive a refund through Chase (I used points for some of the stay) and they suggested I call down and speak to the manager. The phone was broken. I got down to the lobby and she told me there wasn't even a manager on site. And the elevator was broken. The hallway room numbers were confusing and it felt like a maze in there. I can't decide if the worst part of this hotel was the headache from the smell or the most un-welcoming front desk person I've ever experienced. But in any case, I left an hour later. They had an opportunity to make it right but they didn't. Hence, this review.

Beware, health alert! Beware, Health Alert! Run down hotel. 1 st floor room had a very strong moldy musty smell that immediately burnt our throats sinus. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world and Never had this issue and I'm not a complainer unless it's serious or unhealthy. Smelled like hotel tried to cover up water mold damage with strong chemicals. Wall had big streak marks from water damage and not repaired. Changed room to 2nd floor and had same bad smell. I asked other guests if they were experiencing same issue and they said yes. Told front desk and they argued with me and were indifferent to our problem and said that smell was normal with a 100 year old building, but that's ridiculous! Got so bad our lungs and throats were hurting and I'm in good physical shape. Left hotel after deciding this was very risky and unhealthy. Elevator did not work but front desk said they didn't even have one, very strange. Had tons of luggage and took 6 trips to move it out of 2nd floor. Hotel did not charge us since we left within a few hours of checking in.

Stop the saxophone - it's terrible. A small, quiet boutique hotel ruined by a saxophone player near lobby. The noise from it echoes through the walls and pierces the ears. I offered to pay him to stop. We will not be returning if this is the norm. Sincerely,...
