Exactly the Hampton Inn value I was expecting for a clean and comfortable stay with a generous breakfast selection. The Hampton Inn State College was exactly as I would expect from their property. From the friendly welcome and Diamond level upgrade (even though they are not obligated to do so), to the clean updated room and nice breakfast spread, I was very pleased with my stay. I had stayed here many years ago and thought the exterior looked a little worn down but the interior was so nicely refreshed that it didn't matter. It's so convenient to all things PSU.

Nice choice in State College This is my second time visiting this hotel in the past six months. Both visits were very nice. The front desk staff was very nice and the rooms are very recently updated, clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.

Outside pool is the best part of the hotel. Needs updating. I stayed at a lot of Hilton hotels and this hotel is slight below average for a Hampton. Outside needs updating, breakfast was sub par. Bed was comfortable but the TV was very small. The best part of the hotel is the outside pool and close proximity to the state college spikes. Next time I will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn.

If you are Black, no vacancy On Monday, July 18, I arrived at this hotel around 8:20 pm. I called Garden Inn, which was down the street, told me this hotel had a vacancy. The person at Garden Inn transferred me to Hampton Inn. Hampton Inn said they had a vacancy and took my credit card information. However, I got there the person at the desk said they did not have a vacancy. I told them that I just made the reservation. The person at the desk called her colleague into the building who was outside smoking with several people. When she came in she said the hotel was full and did not know how I was able to make a reservation. I left. An hour later at 9:20 my reservation was cancelled. I think the reason my reservation was cancelled because I am Black woman. I went all over State College, PA trying to find hotel room and it appeared no one had vacancy. When the one hotel had a vacancy in the godforsaken town, I was denied entry.

Past it prime For a room(140) during the weekend of June 16-18, the room cost 300/night. The room had perfume in my sheets questioning clean sheets, the was small and loud with kids running up the hall in the middle of the night! Also the amenities of a 300 room were not there, such as a microwave, cups, one chair? The restroom lacked anything special, except the shampoo and conditioner was all over the tub, making showering tricky, very slick. Breakfast was fine, as expected but the room was not up to standard! If I was picking a place to stay, find a newer property, 40+ years old is showing on this property, toilets and showers are short and basic, not a 300 dollar a day room!!!
