Disappointing Hampton Inn Just stayed here on a recent trip to SI to visit family. We stay in Hampton Inn's all the time and assumed this would be of the quality of the others we have stayed. The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. The beds were not the usual Hampton Inn wonderful beds. This mattress was creaky, way too soft and extremely uncomfortable. I didn't sleep for the entire stay due to the horrible mattress. Even the bed linens were not the nicest either. The floors were filthy. My husband and I noticed our socks were black after walking around the room! If we walked barefoot our feet were black. It was so disgusting! They obviously don't vacuum/mop the floors! The room itself was very dingy and depressing. The shower was old and not the cleanest. There was one small shelf in the shower for a bar of soap, but no place to put shampoo, a razor etc. The doors to the rooms do not close properly and therefore all night you heard people slamming doors, not because they were being rude, but because the doors and the floors aren't level. Next time I think we'll just stay with family, because neither one of us could sleep on those beds and knowing how dirty the floors were kind of creeped us out. Not your typical Hampton Inn! Very disappointed.

Terrible outdated room! Outdated hotel , attractive from outside and absolutely abandon from inside. Double bed room: almost $200 a night , not worth a penny! Inside : refrigerator what simply not even cold , AC loud as if you sleep on the middle of highway , we not closed eye for a sec ! In shower towels seems been washed without detergents, they’re gray and yellow. 2 bar soap and 1 mini shower set ( for 2 stayers). No ropes ( again, $200 a night), cracks on wall between shower tube and … the walls. And is no shower cabin , nope, just overused curtains . No plastic cups , just 2 paper cups for coffee machine which I saw on sale in “99c” for $5 … not BPA free indeed. Is not a Hampton Inn in NYC, it’s motel on the middle of nowhere . Never again.

Disappointing stay at a usually great hotel brand I usually don’t write poor reviews but felt that, as a female solo traveler, other travelers should know about the situation I was in at this hotel. I selected this hotel because I’ve stayed at hundreds of Hampton Inns and always had a good experience. I checked in and got to my hotel around midnight to find that the door to the adjoining room had no lock. Meaning there was no lock between my room and the room next to me. As stated above I was a female solo traveler, so you can guess why the lack of a lock between our rooms would be concerning to me. I called the front desk, who told me there were no other rooms available for me to move to, but that security would be called up to “assess” the situation. Security came, “assessed” the missing lock, assured me that he would check whether it was a man or woman on the other side (not that it mattered since I couldn’t switch rooms anyways) and told me I would get a follow up call, and…. Nothing. No follow up from anyone. Since it was too late at night to switch hotels I decided to stay out, but I spent all night anxious about the fact that the person next door could easily enter my room. I even slept with my valuables under my pillow like I had as a college student staying at European hostels again, except this time I had paid $200 for the experience. There was a plastic covering over where the lock should have been. The plastic had a dirt and grime ring around it so the hotel had obviously been aware of this situation for a while yet nothing was done. Also, let’s talk about the room. The shower had mold and was disgusting. The AC was so loud that it woke me up every time it turned on. This hotel faces a highway, so it was pretty loud all night with cars going by. Overall, I was very disappointed with this Hampton Inn experience. I hope this review encourages management to fix the broken locks in between rooms and treat the mold in the showers.

Hampton Inn Staten Island great property Everything was great about this hotel. Free parking in NYC vicinity. Hard To believe. Breakfast was very good!!! The rooms are large with huge bathtubs and separate shower area. Huge living room with pull out sofa and wet bar area. This is a great hotel to stay in year round.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! An absolute DUMP from the beginning The elevator broke down while we were in it. Dirty hallways with peeling paint, bags of dirty linen and trash lined the hallway. In the room - Broken toilet wouldn’t stop running. The shower was moldy and filthy. TV not working. There were no towels and when we requested enough for two people we got TWO towels and were told there was a towel shortage because guests threw them away or stole them. The stench of pot was everywhere as the ventilation system was nonexistent. Might make a decent migrant shelter but definitely not a pleasant hotel experience! Save your money. DO NOT stay here!
