Turn Back Before It's Too Late!! Run to the nearest exit if The Red Lion Inn staff tries to book you into the Stevens House, which is one of their satellite houses close to the Inn! My husband and I wanted to have a king size bed, so that was the space available for that. It is appalling that management thinks that this house is suitable for charging their normal hotel rates. We at first thought this had to be a mistake. The house desperately needs painting and the barn out back is falling down. We weren't even sure if it was the right house, since there was no signs of occupancy. It gets worse when you step inside. The main floor looks like an abandoned frat house. The walls are a dismal brown and by the kitchen is mismatched picnic type furniture. The best thing I can say about our room is that it had a bed suitable for sleeping. The room reminded me of a much neglected guest room at Grandma's house! Again with dreary brown carpeting and mismatched furniture that could not even be called "vintage", just old and very beat up. The curtains looked like they had been hung by a drunken uncle and were just horrible. For the money we were paying for a weekend night I was upset and very disappointed. This was a birthday weekend for my husband and our first visit to Tanglewood. I will never ever stay at this hotel again. The day we got home I sent an e-mail via the Inn's contact us site explaining my disappointment and asking for a response back. That was the end of June, it now August and I am still waiting...DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY STAYING AT THE RED LION INN. It was a huge disappointment on so many levels. There are plenty of other places to say in the area. Camping would have been a better experience than staying there.

Stockbridge MA Accommodation This very historic inn is located in the heart of downtown Stockbridge, and centrally located for the many entertainment and recreational venues of the area. The property exudes the charm that one would expect, but it is showing its age. The dinner menu is limited and pricey. The meals were well presented but were not prepared or arrayed with the professional skill one would expect of such an establishment. If you choose to stay here, insist on being given a room away from the common areas and any rooms assigned for large groups (e.g., wedding parties) since there is inadequate sound insulation or staff security to control the noise.

Sit back and Relax The Red Lion Inn is a relaxing and peaceful place. We enjoyed the food in the dining room and in the pub. It was peaceful to sit on the large front porch or in one of the many sitting rooms. There is so much to History to the INN and in the lovely town of Stockbridge.

Old and tired property in need of serious updates. While old and quaint this property is in desperate need of maintenance and updating. Paint is peeling, carpets are threadbare and torn, wood is rotting and place is not well cleaned. Food is ok but limited menu. Housekeeping was spotty. Location is great and the area is worth visiting.

So so It was centrally located to Tanglewood which is why we chose it. The room was comfortable although small. The bed was very high off the ground and difficult to get in and out of.. Some of the staff was friendly, and some had severe attitudes which are inappropriate in a hotel.
