Up for discussion Stayed for one night 19/10/22.
We were put in the Rosemount “suite” which is a “cottage” next to the main gate.
We were treated to Addams family themed furniture…being close to Halloween…dark furniture…dusty carpets…and curtains that looked like they were previously shrouds….see photos….
The addition of a cold only heater enhanced the experience…as did the “behind wallpaper” water feature…above the bed…again see pics…they even threw in a real slug crawling on the coving for authenticity…which worked really well as my partner was reaching on first sight of it.
Single glazing and a failed heating system added to the chilling atmosphere.
Having said that…the bathroom/shower was great…very clean and with a roll top bath..
On check in….my partner was greeted with a pointed finger and and…. “its down there somewhere”…..
Which added to the mystery….on a par with Pontins at Sand Bay in Somerset…magical….or perhaps a bit less…

Scandalous - avoid My wife booked a package for 22nd May. A week before we were contacted to say that Stoke Park had been taken over and as a result was undergoing major refurbishment during out stay. The restaurant we booked in our package was closed and our accommodation in the Mansion House was undergoing major redecoration. We were offered the option to cancel which my wife took up. Despite numerous telephone calls and emails we have still not received our refund. This has nothing to do with Covid-19 just really poor customer service. It is a really shame that such a lovely hotel has deteriorated so much. We are just being given excuse after excuse.

Fabulous breakfast Having had an awful breakfast experience at another hotel locally it was a great pleasure to be at Stoke Park enjoying there most fabulous breakfast offerings.
We will very much look forward to coming back before the closure.

Birthday stay On the whole we enjoyed our stay at Stoke Park
Particularly the golf course the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind a credit to the Course
We ate in both restaurants, neither outstanding but Humphreys was the better of the two with great service.
The room was comfortable if a little dated and for the price should of had a fridge and at least a mirror near a socket and my biggest gripe.... whats with the dingy lighting? couldn’t even read the newspaper!

Wonderful stay! We went for a break away to Stoke Park and just had the most wonderful three days. The idea of going there was to feel like we were on holiday and thanks to the kindness of the team and their willingness to help at all times, we certainly did. Great facilities, superb grounds but the people are the highlight! Thank you we will be back!
