Really nice facility, close to shopping, GREAT STAFF This is a quality hotel with a very relaxing lobby. It’s super close to good shopping options and the best part is the desk staff. Carmen is the GOAT. She fixed all my problems. Will definitely come back.

Lodging challenges during COVID I'm trying to be fair with this review because they were short staffed. The battery to my room needed to be replaced. However it took me getting on the elevator 7 times before I got someone to replace the batteries so I could get into my room. I was up since 3am driving for 3 hours and it was 9:30pm. All I wanted was a shower and sleep. The room appeared clean. Most of the employees were friendly. I've been here before but am having a hard time remembering if I had a better experience. The location is great though. There are tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

AWESOME!!!! I absolutely love this hotel! Whenever I am in Houston this is my hotel of choice. The staff is always polite and professional. They are truly living up to Marriot standards, clean rooms, great food, smiling faces and extraordinary service.

Overnight Stay in Sugarland Marriot Before we even left for Texas, we received an ema from the hotel I forming us that we would not receive any cleaning from the housekeeping staff due to COVID. This is in a state with no mask mandate. We checked in on Saturday morning as we flew in for a funeral. We noted as we walked to our room that the carpet in the hallways were not vacuumed and had tiny bits of litter on it. Unfortunately for us, Texas hotels have cancelled their room service and limited their restaurant service although this hotel's website still claims to have room service. The restaurant is called the "The Burning Pear". It was decent food but the seating had ripped patches in them. The desk chair in the room itself had similar worn and torn patches. The room was ok but the air conditioning did not work well. We were very disappointed with the service from the front desk. When we asked for robes, the front desk claimed that robes were unavailable in the hotel yet housekeeping sent us robes. We asked for an additional luggage rack and the front desk sent a bell person with a doily who informed us that luggage racks were 1/room. Housekeeping sent us an additional luggage rack thankfully. All in all, the stay was akin to being in a Bed and Breakfast and certainly did not meet with Marriott's international standards.

Worst experience ever This hotel is listed as a “LUXURY’ hotel. Far from it! We checked in at 4pm and were told there was an issue with the water and would be around an hour before the water was turned back on. No problem, we’re going out and should be back in a couple of hours. After returning 3 hours later we were still without water. At 10:30 at night I called the front desk where no one ever answered. I called back on my cell phone and someone promptly answered. They had no idea when the water would be turned back on and were still working on it. I asked if there were other rooms with water we could use the restroom but they said all of the hotel was without water. The next morning we woke up to scalding hot water in the sink only but no water in the toilet or shower. I called the front desk and the woman that answered was not very helpful and said they were still working on the issue. From the moment we checked in till the moment we checked out we had no water except for the scalding hot water in the sink which was also stopped up. When I approached the clerk at the front desk I asked her what are we doing abut the bill She very rudely said she would give me a $50 discount and proceeded to give me my receipt. I was like “WHAT”? $50????? After everything we’ve been thru? She had the audacity to yell at me and say why I was being rude to her. I’m giving you a discount and YOURE being rude to me!!!! At that point I asked to speak to her manager. She was not only rude but obviously should not be a front desk clerk and yell at the guest. The manager came and she was very nice, very soft spoken and listened to my complaints and I listened to what was going on with the plumbing. She quickly said we shouldn’t have to pay after all the inconvenience. As much as we have enjoyed staying in the past at this Marriott in Sugar Land, this one is off our list. It IS NOT A LUXURY HOTEL BY ANY MEANS. ROOMS ARE PRETTY RUNNED DOWN ALREADY.
