Luxurious Getaway to Restore and Relax Fabulous ladies' getaway! Luxury and so beautiful, with wonderful, friendly staff. Kudos to Maurine at the spa, she gave me the most incredible facial, best I have ever received. The spa shower experience was incredible. Floating in the swimming pool, surrounded snow covered mountains was fabulous. Food (breakfast and dinner)in Gretchens' was perfect and the service was superb. We cannot wait to come back! Thank you!

Vintage Hollywood meets Historic Mountain Lodge Built is 1936, it has hosted notable celebrities- Gregory Peck, Cint Eastwood, Louis Armstrong, John Wayne, Ernest. Hemingway, Janet Leigh, Jimmy Stuart, and others. The hallways near the entrance are lined with photos of the notables, including Hollywood celebrities, sports figures, as well as business and political leaders. It has all the amenities you would expect from a location of this caliber. Elegant, but comfortable reception and lounge area with piano bar, drink and food service, and fireplaces (gas). We stayed in the Sun Valley Condos as part of a larger group (50 people). Our unit consisted of 2 separated bedrooms with their own card access and bathrooms. The “master suite included a bedroom with a walk-in bathroom and closet in the bathroom area. The suite also included a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and a sitting are with a gas fireplace. The kitchen came equipped with a blender, toaster, coffee maker, and dishwasher. Coffee was provided in pouches that could be dropped into the basket. You can also supple you on ground coffee. Cooking utensils/equipment as well as plates, glasses, and coffee mugs were also provided. The suite also came equipped with a washer and dryer. Laundry detergent and dryer sheets were also included. The smaller bedrooms we equipped with a mini fridge built into the dresser. The result was less dresser capacity. Once drawer was dedicated for a room safe. A K-Cup coffee maker with K-Cups were also in the smaller bedrooms. (Tully’s French Roast Decaf cups) Note: All bedrooms and living areas were off a common hallway accessible from the exterior by a key card accessible door. The hotel also has an outdoor pool, hot tub, and a bowling alley. Adjacent to the Sun Valley Lodge is a village with shops and restaurant. There is also a US Post Office in the village as well. A City bus stop is also located at the end of the village which provides service to the mountains as well as the Ketchum itself. The hotel can also provide shuttle service into town, as well as to the airport. I had no issues with the hotel, other than the exterior door on our unit malfunctioning resulting in our being locked out, along with the hotel staff. None the less the staff worked tirelessly to make the repair and make sure the door was functional. The Sun Valley Lodge is a Master Class in 5-star hotel management and presentation. Any hotel company with 5-stars aspirations should have their management visit. (Special thanks to Hayden and Isiah for providing outstanding bellman service!) Tip: Obtain multiple copies of the key cards as they had a tendency to deactivate themselves. Tip: If you are staying at the Sun Valley Inn you can use the overnight ski check at the River Run Lodge area to store your skis overnight at no charge.

Not up to our expectations for a world class hotel We stayed in a Sun Valley Lodge Deluxe Apartment for four nights, promarily to see an ice show. The hotel room apartment left a lot to be desired. -Advance booking required a 20% upfront payment. A warning of what was to come, as it turned out. -The webpage showed a cozy room with lots of windows. The actual room had one window that faced out on a hallway, with a view of people’s legs passing by looking in on us. Cold water tap ran hot for several minutes. It had two twin beds the size of prison cots with sheets that didn’t fit. Minimal amenities - getting a microwave was a special request. Fireplace? _ The bathroom door required effort to open and close. -The tiny room had all the ambiance one expects at a Motel 6. Which would have been OK, but not for the $600 a night paid. We have vacationed at Sun Valley for 40 years. It is a great place. But there are many hotels there which are a better value and more peasant.

Charming As Ever Always a special place, on both winter and summer. Retains original charm with great service. Can become busy during periods of summer and winter and bookings should be made far in advance for this unique place

The Only Gig In Town I was housed at the Inn as opposed to the lodge. The Inn was great. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, and the bathroom was updated to have more a modern look and feel. The only thing that was dumb about the shower was the shower handle was on the wrong wall. So, when you turned it the water on, you got wet doing it. Dumb engineering. One other issue is that the Ice Machine was all the was across the hotel from my room. Other than that, the hotel is great with high quality service. The hotel grounds are a great place to roam around and be at peace. I am looking forward to my stay here again.
