Lovely stay Just had a great 3 night stay at your hotel. Lovely modern room, friendly helpful staff.Special thanks for an unexpected bottle of wine left for us, after our daughter contacted, saying we were on a first trip to Australia. We really enjoyed the breakfast we had one morning, great selection.

Excellent hotel for both business and leisure! I've been staying at Rydges World Square for over 10 years now, and it continues to deliver excellent experiences—especially during my recent business trips. The reception staff are always professional and welcoming. A special mention to Serhan and Conrad at Concierge, who greeted us like old friends and took care of our luggage while we were out attending meetings. When we returned, we were pleasantly surprised to find fresh fruit platters and bottles of water waiting in our rooms, along with thoughtful handwritten “welcome back” cards. After a long day, it was exactly what we needed. When it was time to head to the airport, Serhan and his team once again made things seamless by organising a taxi for us—saving us valuable time during a hectic travel schedule. We highly recommend Rydges World Square for both business and family stays. The location is unbeatable, and the service truly sets it apart.

Great location, but room was not clean properly We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, it was very central and great location for everything in central Sydney. Underneath the hotel was lots of shops and food outlets. The room was not very clean and I think the housekeeping could be much better, including the daily change of towels, cups etc. it was very inconsistent. There was also thick dust on the skirting boards etc., so it was not regularly cleaned and basic cleaning was over looked. Also a bad point the bedding was very strange, there seemed to be a quilt, which is obviously not changed between guests, but they just had open sheets on top, so you ended up sleeping with the quilt against you, it was very odd and not some thing we were very happy with, it could be done much better. If I returned to Sydney, I would not stay there again, the housekeeping and cleanliness were not good and I did not feel very comfortable there.

A week in Sydney I am between a Three and Four stars for the review here as its a good hotel but was let down by a few minor things. Firstly the location is excellent, just a 5-10 minute walk to Central station at the top end of Chinatown, and close to Museum Metro and Chinatown Tram stop, although we walked to most places that we wanted to visit from there including Circular Quay and the Opera house which was about a 20 minute walk for us. There is a bar and restaurant on site- we used the bar (Sydney Cidery) often during our stay and found it to have a good atmosphere with both hotel guests and locals discussing business, etc. We did not visit the restaurant as we were up and out sightseeing and skipping breakfast, preferring to eat as and when where ever we were, but the food coming out looked good with decent portion sizes. The hotel sits above a good shopping mall where there are numerous eateries and cafes, stores and a supermarket which we also found to be very convenient during our stay. The staff we met were all very polite and helpful. Whilst the reception and bar/restaurant areas were clean and modern, the areas leading to the rooms looked a bit tired and in need of some TCL. The room was a balcony room on floor 19, but the balcony is not very deep and only has one chair which looked out over the mall, so wasn't really practical for anything other than letting all the noise in. The room itself was spacious with a decent sized bathroom, and had everything you could need including toothbrush and toothpaste, the shower door did not close right up as some other reviews have alluded to, but it was more of a wet room set up that a separate shower area, so not much of a problem as a decent sized floor towel was provided to mop up any water that escaped. When we arrived we found that our kettle did not work, which after a long journey and wanting a decent cuppa was not great. My wife called reception and we were advised this would be sorted. The next issue was that we only had 4 coat hangers in the room which for a weeks stay was clearly insufficient. We were provided a dozen more once requested, but again after a long journey was just an additional hassle (maybe there is a problem with guests taking them home with them, but they were only plastic and nothing special!!) After about half an hour and no kettle, we called down to reception to advise them we were off to sleep and not to worry about it until morning. We were provided with a new kettle the following morning after a phone call to reception. A couple of days into our stay, we turned the TV on but there were no channels, another phone call to reception and this was soon sorted, but again, should really be checked before guests arrive, which leads me nicely to my last point. At check in we were asked if we would prefer to have some credit at the bar in lieu of a couple of days housekeeping, this is not something i have ever been asked before and i'm not sure if this is due to a shortage of hotel staff in Sydney, a cost cutting exercise, trying to be "eco friendly" etc, but we opted for 2 days of making the room ourselves, although we were still topped up with Tea and Coffee on the days where housekeeping did not make the room up. The other niggle i have is that the bed sheets were seemingly fitted widthways across the bed (or were too short?), so that our feet caught the ends of the sheet which made them ride up towards the middle of the bed which led to discomfort during the night. I feel that over all, if housekeeping was a daily thing, maybe the checks on the rooms would be more thorough and irritations like the TV or kettle not working would be picked up on ahead of guests arriving. All in all a pleasant stay and apart from the points mentioned, this hotel has a lot going for it.
