Needs a full revamp! My god.. properties like this make me question my loyalty to the Hilton brand. Located minutes away from the Tampa airport, this hotel is so old and so dingy. I arrived at 3:30 to check in for my $150 double bed room. I was checked in with no mention of my diamond status or water offer. I asked and was given two waters and walked very far to my tower room. Room 795 was right next to the elevator and easily 90 degrees. I went back downstairs and asked for a new room. The maintenance worker told me I should have tried to change the temp on the actual ac unit, not on the wall unit that was not functional because apparently they disconnected it. I asked again for a new room since I needed to take a few conference calls and did not want to sit in a 90 degree room. They gave me room 895, directly one floor above and also 90 degrees. Luckily for me the thermostat worked this time and ac came on quickly. Room was old, outdated, dirty and LOUD. It was seriously right on the highway (275) which is very busy and full of trucks. You could hear everyone in the hallway as they walked by. Bed was comfy and clean. Positive that it is located right next to one of the best steakhouses in the area. Diamond members can park right out front , which is nice considering the rest of the parking is a long walk or in a big dark garage. Please update this hotel! A full revamp is needed!

Just avoid... The hotel is located quite close to the airport. And that is the only positive about the hotel. Front desk was mostly a miss - staff insisted that I would have to pay for parking even though my rate included parking. Eventually I had to turn on my computer to show them the corporate rate T&C. Breakfast at restaurant was terrible - limited menu, bad food, no service. I would get my own coffee on all the days that I ate there. On the last day when I told the server at the bar that I was ready to order, her response was "Great. But I am busy right now". No apologies so I left and grabbed breakfast on my way to work. When I complained to the front desk, the woman told me "We cant do anything about it as the restaurant is not a part of the hotel". Another example of poor service. Why offer breakfast "credit" at the restaurant if its not a part of the hotel? My room was on the 10th floor and it was clean. However, a coworker was given a room on the first floor and encountered several cockroaches in his room. During the mornings, the hotel does run out of hot water so time your showers accordingly. Plenty of options in the area. Do not recommend staying here.

Ok Bartenders are very slow and not knowledgeable about the teams that were playing on TV. As a hotel sports bar they should know what and what teams are playing. We had to ask and felt as though they were being bothered by our requests.

Not what you would expect from a Hilton property. We have stayed at this Doubletree many times and have always had an enjoyable experience. This time was different. We picked our room on the app and arrived at a little after 840PM. Our room was not ready. Really? Not ready at 840PM? That should have been my first warning sign they were understaffed. We switched rooms to queen beds instead of the king we wanted. I also learned while checking in that there is now a $25.00 per night parking fee. The people checking in next to me were told they do not have to pay the parking fee because it was included. I guess you have to be careful while booking. We were assigned room 234, with a balcony overlooking the beautiful pool area. The bathtub/shower was rusty, the tiles were scummy and the hook on the back of the bathroom door is missing. Bathroom is very small and the missing hook left no place to hand a toiletries bag, bathroom or wet towel. There are holes in the bedroom curtains and they also were filthy. There is no daily housekeeping, so the halls are lined with trash and dirty towels, leftover food, etc. Not a pleasant site, snd sometimes, an unpleasant odor. We had a snack on arrival in the restaurant. Food was good, servers were pleasant and efficient, even though they were understaffed. On day 3 we requested housekeeping, and were told it would be taken care if. We needed tissues, toilet paper, trash emptied, etc. they never came. The front desk never answers the phone. So any requests or questions require a trip to the front desk and a wait in line. The lobby is welcoming and offers a variety of seats to talk or eat take out. The restaurant used for breakfast was closed, with a sign saying it was a private party. The hallway leading to the restaurant was dark, leading us to believe there was no private party. We never saw anyone in there. It was just closed with management thinking they needed to offer an excuse. Just a warning to those with food allergies—-my favorite about Doubletree is the warm chocolate chip cookies. I have eaten many over the years and never had a problem. This time however, after nibbling slowly in half a cookie, I felt a tickle in my throat, which I thought meant I needed water. Then my nose became stuffy and my throat started to swell and my asthma kicked in. It was not as scary as it reads, because I knew what to do. I took my rescue inhaler and allergy medication. Everything settled down and I was fine. I read the ingredients on the package and they use barley flour, which I am allergic to. I don’t know if it is a new ingredient, or I have grown more sensitive to it. Just be careful. My bad. The staff is friendly and the things I mentioned are beyond there control. This property does not come close to what us expected from a Hilton brand. If you are staying overnight for a cruise, you may like this. Or if you are with a group that wants to meet in the lobby for chats. There is also a $15.00 dining credit, which we were not made aware of at check in. The property is understaffed, in need of repair. We were disappointed in the condition of the room. But the worst was the trash lining the hallways. I have to add, other than the lack of housekeeping, we did not report anything to the management. The holy curtain, rusty bathroom, missing hook, have been here a long time. I am sure they are well aware of the problem. If they are not, they should be.

Old, outdated and in need of repairs We booked this hotel trusting it would live up to the Hilton brand standard. We were completely wrong. This is very old property in need of repairs and updating. Everything from wallpaper peeling off of walls, power cords taped to the floors, rust, holes in hallway walls, dark hallways, etc. We booked a 1 king room and arrived on a late flight. Check in was quick and easy because we used the Hilton app. When we arrived at the hotel we attempted to grab some snacks from the on-site shop, just to discover just about nothing was available. After a maze of hallways we found our room. The room had no light switches near the door so I had to stumble around in the dark to find a light (we arrived at about 10pm). The room was small, outdated and in need of updating and repairs. No in room refrigerator or microwave. Bathroom fixtures and decor needed repairs. Thankfully, this was just a quick oversight stay to go to the cruise port the next morning. If this would have been a longer stay we definitely would have gone somewhere else. Do not recommend.
