Yet another great stay Yet another excellent stay.
Room was spacious and the evening meal was very good.
The service from entering to leaving was friendly and professional.
Although the drinks are slightly expensive you pay for the ambience.
A must for that special occasion

Great value We enjoyed our stay here beautiful surroundings. The food was excellent in the evening and breakfast was very good too. Would have no hesitation recommending family and friends to stay.In a good location for exploring Cheshire we were very happy with our choice.

Afternoon Tea Actual tea room is somewhat cramped. Tea was average as : (1) no loose tea despite being on the menu (and very little choice), (2) no filtered coffee despite being on the menu, (3) crusts still left on most of the finger sandwiches which is not normal practice and, (4) the mustard mayonnaise was missing from the ham sandwich. Despite this the overall quality / taste of the food was fine.

Gorgeous. So beautiful.
On arrival, there's a narrow stone arch at the end of the driveway and several speed bumps (wish we knew this as our car has a low profile).
The castle is incredibly well maintained throughout. After checking in we went to find our room. We did get a bit lost but when we asked a staff member, he took the opportunity to give us a little guided tour of the castle on the way to our room, which was lovely.
The room was beautiful and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The only downside was the shower cubical which was tiny and the door opened into it. The cubical was only a few inches wider than the door which made getting around the door to shut it, very difficult and actually impossible for one of us to use.
Before dinner we had drinks in the wine cellar - beyond a doubt, the best room I've ever sat in. Incredibly beautiful.
The 1851 restaurant was out of this world. The mushroom gnocchi was the best I have ever tasted and surpassed my expectation. We went for breakfast the following morning which again, was incredible.
We visited the library and had a good time reading some entries in one of the archives.
Overall, we loved it and would highly recommend it to others.

Amazing!!! My Aunt and I were brought a weekend stay for our birthdays and we’re not disappointed. The place, rooms, food and staff were all amazing. We had a meal in the brasserie which was excellent, every course was tasty and well presented. The venue is just stunning, we can’t wait to return.
