Terrible Tarrytown This hotel has the worst staff on earth. Their front desk people are so rude, you will not get any help from them. One person, Romeo, the bell hop and valet, helped me with everything. This is NOT the place to stay if you want to be treated with kindness, I have never had such a bad experience with rude people at the front desk. They also charged me (we had 2 rooms 3 doors apart) two different prices for the exact same room, one room was $100 more per night than the other room. Beautiful setting, ugly people, bad experience. Restaurant also overpriced.

Highly Recommended My wife and I spent a night at the Tarrytown House Estate recently. The grounds and old buildings were beautiful and meticulously maintained. The check in person was gracious and very informative, drawing a detailed map to our guestroom, which was most helpful. Dinner at the Goose Feather restaurant was superb. The guestroom experience was excellent - clean, well lit, comfortable bed, fully supplied bathroom and spacious shower. I only wish we had had time to fully explore the historic buildings and grounds - but wee will definitely return for another visit!

Perfect weekend wedding location for guests and events While the rooms are definitely in need of updating, the beds were comfy and the sheets were soft and A/c worked great. The hotel itself was the perfect place for hosting a wedding weekend w/family and friends. Goosefeathers for rehearsal dinner was perfect on-site culinary experience. The grounds are very nice and well kept. I had 40 ppl staying here and there were multiple outdoor gathering spaces to just chill including an outside space that had seating for 100 ppl consisting on multiple outdoor couches where we hung til the weee hours of the night. For an event, this hotel has a lot to offer. Staff very helpful in the planning process and directing guests. Cons: lighting on the grounds is poor especially roadway and parking areas. Signage could be improved as well on roadways to Biddle and pool etc. need picklevall net available and renovate rooms. But I truly enjoyed my stay at this intimate lodging and event location.

Pubic hair in Putnam Room The property is gorgeous. The pubic hair on the bathroom floor...not so much. My one-night stay was unfortunate. When I noticed a hair on the shower wall and bathroom floor, I called guest services. No one picked up. When I reported it during check-out the following morning, the person at the front desk said, "We'll let housekeeping know. You're checked out now." No apologies. Nothing. Unacceptable for an estate that boasts of its "five star service."
