DON'T DO IT I saw mix of reviews, good & bad, and took the chance, hoping the bad reviews weren't really THAT bad... THEY WERE. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. They are in the middle of a remodel so everything is a mess, the room wasn't cleaned, it smelled AWFUL, it's not in the best part of town.... We saw the room and cancelled our reservation and the hotel ACCUSED US OF TRASHING THE ROOM -- ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!! Trust me and stay away. Not worth the hassle and gross-ness.

Marginal accommodation A friend and I from overseas decided we would stay here for the night as it was a good price! However after been given the key and going into our room we were shocked to find that our sheets looked unchanged and our pillows had hair on them! I even went and brought a pillow from target and a fresh pillow case!!! The room was extremely run down dirty and full of stains! And although we asked for a non smoking room the smell of smoke strongly lingered though it and there was even cigarette butt burns on the duvet! The room also had no toilet paper at all!! Overall was an extremely disappointing experience!!!

Horrific experience I booked this hotel after seeing a 4-star review on tripadvisor, but had a horrific experience from the moment I walked in. Had reservation for the night of Oct 28th 2019. The alarm bells started going off the moment I stepped to the front desk. Had a weird unpleasant smell. The room was dirty, had dust on all the furniture, lamp shades had torn fabric, curtains were dirty and had dark stains. Phone - does not work. Of course. The bed advertised as a king size was essentially two twin bed boxes sandwiched together, not an actual bed frame. I tried settling in to the mattress cushion and the whole thing caved in from the middle. Totally uneven surface. Bed linen and sheets were filthy to say the least, had dark stains. It was mind boggling how they were running this place. I am not a fancy type, and am a regular patron of Motel 6's. None have been as distraught of an experience as Mote 6 Tempe. I packed my bags back up and went to the front desk conveying my concerns and asked for a full refund. This was within 20 min after checkin. The front desk lady just said "Ok, I will make a note. But you need to talk to the manager for refund. He doesn't have a set schedule. Here's a card. You can try tomorrow". 3 days later, I've still not been processed my refund. The manager is AWOL as usual, and has taken zero initiative to address my concern. Tried calling tripadvisor helpline for refund and they just passed the buck to the hotel manager. Saying their customer relations team would reach out. This is hugely unacceptable. There should be a system for refunding patrons if they didn't find their rooms up to standard upon checking in within a designated time. I would like to give the hotel 0 stars. I hope the manager reads this review, makes amends & refunds my money. Again, I don't know if all the previous reviews are paid, or if the hotel has had a recent change of ownership. Trust me, this is no 4-star review deserving hotel.

Location, location, LOCATION!! This motel 6 is in a great location. It is right in the hub of Tempe! Close to asu and Mesa! Rooms are spacious, staff is amazing! Kristina went out of her way to upgrade my room to a more spacious suite! The manager David goes above and Beyond to make sure my stay was pleasant! The only negative thing I would say is that their are some bad apples that are not Guest that like to loiter around the property but management is quick to intervene and fix the situation. I will definitely be staying here again!!

Well Rested I had quite the plesant experience staying at the this location for the second time this month. The staff was wonderfully accommodating and astute. The rooms were quaint though rather dated and in need of some much needed attention. The proximity to ASU and the light rail worked out to my advantage as I had meetings at both ASU Tempe and Phoenix ASU respectively.
