No don’t go here I stayed at this hotel several days a week through the late 90s was a great place to stay back then. Needed a room for a few nights and book there. They rented rooms without a working heating system anywhere in the hotel. Their solution was to give me a portable heater and tell me if it warm out tomorrow. Wallpaper peeling, sheets had a sour smell to them. I can’t remember a hotel stay worse than this. Facility is dated dirty and in need of repairs.

Last resort motel The old charm and beauty of this hotel definitely stops at the front doors. The carpet throughout the hotel is dirty and unkempt, and everything smells of mustiness and mold. Our room took things to another level however. We have broken outlets, our air conditioner blow hot stale air, the bathroom fan doesn't function and is covered in mold, there is mold and dirt behind the drapes, one of the windows won't open, there is paint peeling off of the walls and the smell of stale cigarette smoke is awful. We even found someone else's old cell phone partly under our bed showing the room was definitely not vacuumed. The worst part however, was discovering the rat boxes under both of our beds. You have to see it to believe it. It is unclear to me how the health department has allowed this facility to remain open.

A hotel clearly waiting to know it's fate A hotel clearly waiting to know it's fate and in the meantime being allowed to deteriorate. The bedroom was a great size and clean. But the décor of the hotel overall was old , dated and in many areas, in obvious need of repairs. The restaurant/ café is closed indefinitely. The carpets in some of the public areas , eg the stairs, are in need of replacement or at the very least, a deep clean.

This hotel DEFINITELY needs work… I recently stayed 1 night in this hotel. It did not meet my expectations. I had reserved a room with two Queen beds. The room was not in good condition. It smelled badly and was extremely stuffy despite the A/C unit running non-stop (it was on and on the coolest setting when I arrived…so, it’s not like it was off for an extended period of time prior to my arrival). The bathroom sink faucet was missing part of the handle for the cold water…something that housekeeping should have noticed and alerted management and/or the maintenance staff of so that it could be addressed before guests arrived. There also appeared to be mold in one corner of our ceiling. The hallway was also NOT in good shape. The wallpaper around two adjacent rooms was secured to the wall by blue painter’s tape… not sure if those rooms were being renovated? Or, the wall paper was just peeling off due to age and excess humidity in the hallway? Bottom line, it felt like the A/C was NOT on in the hallway (at least of the 2nd floor, where our room was located). It appeared to be on in the hallway of the 1st floor. Given how dated The in-room air conditioning units are, management HAS to have the hallway A/C as the in-room units just cannot cool down the room appropriately. Given the stuffiness of the room and potential mold issue, we requested a new room. Betsie the front desk agent was very nice and upgraded us to the Alpine suite, which was much better. That room had TWO A/C units in it so the air was not as stuffy, and the bathroom actually had two functioning faucet handles! I’ll also note that the restaurant, Palmer’s Crossing, is closed. While this IS noted on their website when you click on “Dining”, the confirmation email I received for the reservation, indicates that the restaurant IS open. I hadn’t clicked on every link on their website, and assumed that the communication with my reservation was accurate, so I was rather disappointed to find that the restaurant was closed.

Won’t return Their website photos are promising. However, the rooms, particularly the bathrooms, proved to be dirty and smelly. Peeling wallpaper galore. Hotel needs a substantial update because it’s stuck in the 20th century.
