TOLOVANA INN

Repeatedly locked out of room because of crappy key card situation It's just ok. A little expensive for what it is, but not uncomfortable. The key card I was issued never worked twice. So I had to go to the lobby EVERY TIME I left my room to get it remagnetized. Can't have your key anywhere near your phone, but you are at the beach, so your stuff goes in a bag. Crazy and frustrating. Didnt want to leave my room at night and risk getting locked out again and again. Really put a damper on the trip. Would not go back knowing this is the situation.

Great experience for family, expensive Nice. Grocery store and restaurants within 2 minutes walking. Price was really expensive. No checking in before 4pm. Right on the beach. We had a 2 room suite that was interconnecting. Pool was indoor and clean. Will come back if prices were lower in the off season

Won’t stay again The rooms are run down and in need of an upgrade. Our room smelled of marijuana and had no air conditioning. A box fan was provided in lieu of air conditioning. The location right on the beach is great but the high prices are not warranted given the state of the rooms.

Great location The Inn is located on the beach - wonderful location. Our initial room had no view, was tiny and definitely not what we were looking for. We changed to a ocean view overlooking the parking lot - it was we were told an upgrade. The room was definitely much better, much brighter, more space and a huge difference re atmosphere. The location of the Inn is definitely wonderful and this might justify the prices, however the inn is in many parts run down and the value is given by the location, not the quality of the rooms. Beds, shower, carpet, kitchen utensils substandard. Nevertheless we overall enjoyed our stay. Price value is not ok during busy vacation times since rooms are overpriced. Off season might be better and rooms need defintely upgrading and renovation.

Good Location, Underwhelming Amenities From the window of our king corner room you can see a glimpse of the iconic Haystock Rock. Beach access is right next door. However, there's something just a little frayed at the edges. Perhaps it's because the night before we stayed at a really nice Holiday Inn in Portland with a beautiful pool & jacuzzi, newer furnishings and free hot breakfast. The Tolovani Inn seems like one of those tourist hotels that overcharge because of the location, while the amenities are underwhelming. There is no tea, no decaf coffee, two styrofoam coffee cups (but one has the sugars and creamer inside). No paper or pen. I was hoping for the smell of the ocean, but people were smoking cigarettes and marijuana under the roof overhang and that smell rose into the room. Moe's restaurant is right next door. That's good and bad! Convenient for lunch or dinner. Not good if you don't like the smell of discarded fishy cooking oil in the dumpsters. It costs $50 more a night to get a room with a refrig and microwave, about $199 plus tax. The bed pillows seem old. If you like the location, you might like Tolovana. But don't expect a sleek modern hotel, breakfast, or nice amenities.
