A Really Nice Place For The Money This hotel is a little older than the hotels out on Wannamaker Rd, but the rooms are extremely clean, the facilities seem very well maintained, the staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast was great too. I will stay here anytime I need a room in Topeka going forward. Close to restaurants, the expo center, and only about a mile north of the I-470, US 75, Kansas Turnpike exit on Topeka Blvd.

Desk clerk from hell • The desk clerk refused to honor my confirmed reservation, and attempted to charge more than $65 over the quoted price for the same lodgings. • The desk clerk essentially accused me of lying, declaring as “impossible” that my reservation was made through the ChoiceHotels.com website but that it must have been made directly to the hotel, even while holding my printout of the website reservation in her hand. • The desk clerk’s response to the guest becoming upset (assertive, but not abusive or profane) was to peremptorily cancel the entire reservation, leaving me with no place to stay, and threatening to call police when I objected. • The desk clerk refused to give her name – a first name would have sufficed to be able to refer to her directly in this review. She remains anonymous to me. • I finally called the contact phone number on the back of my Choice Privileges Platinum card. The desk clerk refused to work with the Choice Privileges supervisor, and also refused to identify herself to the supervisor. (Failing to achieve anything with this desk clerk, the Choice Privileges supervisor found me lodgings elsewhere at a price comparable with my original reservation).

Nice Hotel-Great Location-Friendly Staff Checked in before going to the Trump Rally. Staff was Very Friendly & Helpful! Room was clean, bed could have been a little more firm. But other than that no complaints. Bkfst was pretty good too! Eggs, sausage, biscuits, toast, gravy, waffles, cereal, fruit, coffee, milk, and juice. For the price we paid we were happy! Would recommend this hotel & would definitely stay again!

Best Place in Town The quality of service and room is better than some Comfort Inns. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We’ll stay again our next trip. Surprised by a hot breakfast ! A diamond in choice properties. Beat a Quality Inn and a Comfort Inn during our trip.

Real old Definitely in need of updates and lots of TLC. The price is good, location is good and the staff was awesome. The problems ate many but the high points are: the toilet was so loose you felt like you would tip over, the bed mattress is so bad the floor might have been better but the carpet is greasy and very old, the rest of the furniture is at least 30-40 yrs old., Lastly...get some brighter colors.
