Terrible! Why on earth would they not tell us everything is under renovations ? Not impressed! Nothing is open! We can’t even sit in a lounge for a cocktail. After not being able to travel and finally getting out we were looking forward to a nice stay…..

Stay Away This Hotel is under Construction. Noisy and very unaccomodating. Front Desk is no help. Tried calling room Service to No avail. Wife has allergies and no return calls. I'd fire everyone that had a hand in this. We walked to Wendy's in the airport for me , she had nothing. This Hotel should be ashamed at my post. Construction above my Room #472 , and Not being told after we checked in that any kind of rest wouldn't be till after 5pm, I would have left and checked in another Hotel. Total money grab at Front Desk . Room Service finally called after 1 Hour. Now the menu is only made available today???? Are you kidding me!!. Save your money this Hotel doesn't deserve to be at Pearson int. Airport.

Convenient but pricey for what you get We just stayed here in an accessible room. The hotel is under renovation and it clearly needs it. The rooms are a bit dated, but not bad. The bathroom, however, was. The toilet seat was chipped and worn, which i found disgusting. Even if there are plans for renovation, if you’re going to charge 300 a night, you need to fix things like that, not wait until the reno makes it to that room. I would also suggest they consult someone with accessibility issues when designing an “accessible “ room. I couldn’t get in the door pushing a wheelchair, because the door was too heavy and kept closing on me. The room itself had lots of space for the wheelchair, and the bathroom was generally well set up for a wheelchair, but there was no place in the bathroom to put toiletries. Little to no vanity meant we struggled when using the space. Room service was the only option for food due to the pandemic, and they charge a $5 delivery fee and a $7 “service charge”…… seriously?

Quarantine sentence in a construction site - stay elsewhere! My policy for the ten years that I have been submitting reviews has only been to post good reviews of travel experiences. I am making an exception in this case to give fair warning to unsuspecting travellers. Rarely have I been so eager to leave a hotel but this sadly was the case in staying at the Toronto Sheraton Gateway hotel. The room rate of $579 per night has not been adjusted to take into account the major renovation works in progress which are not noted anywhere on the website. My bill for staying two nights with four meals (two dinners, one breakfast and a lunch) was $1,740 which included two half bottles of wine and a credit of $150. I booked a room with two beds to share with my son to stay for the quarantine period at a reasonable $225 per night but was informed at check in that the quarantine rate was $579 per night which included three meals. It was late and with jet lag I didn’t have the energy to explore other options. I had no inkling what was to come the next morning in terms of construction noise but had I known I most certainly would have made another arrangement. Our room #571 had a very unpleasant odour and the tv didn’t work so we requested a room change to #582 which was acceptable with two comfortable beds. The brown hallway carpet on the fifth floor is stained and looks as though it were installed in the 70s. The walls are paper thin - we could hear the tv and our neighbours speaking. The food offered via paper bag from room service was decent and pretty tasty but choices were limited and not worth the amount charged. They were delivered at the appointed time but the food was only room temperature and never warm/hot. The morning after we checked in, the construction work was in full force. The drilling was directly above our room and it was so loud that I had to end a phone call since I couldn’t hear the caller. I was told that the construction would continue until 4pm - it was 10:15am. The manager located another room but it turned out there was a lot of drilling being done in that area as well so we opted to stay put. She offered me a $150 credit and sent up some milk and Oreo cookies for my 19 year old son. In an era when hotel groups are trying to woo back customers, this experience had the polar opposite effect. I would highly recommend booking an any other hotel at the Toronto airport and save the money for a memorable experience once your quarantine is finished.

Good experience during a three night quarantine stay The staff of the hotel makes a great effort to provide a safe and comfortable accommodation for quarantined guest. From check-in to check-out the employees were extremely helpful. Food was delivered in a punctual manner, and it was always good. The choices are limited, but then you do not expect gourmet dining when in quarantine! This hotel was undergoing renovations, when we stayed there in the beginning of June, but construction noise was usually in the morning/afternoon hours. For anybody wondering about sleep quality: the beds are very comfortable, and due to good sound insulation the nights are quiet. If you have to catch an early morning flight from terminal 3, you are just a few minutes away, which is very convenient for travelers.
