Wonderful experience! Top notch establishment where they excel in the little touches as well as the expected. Awesome breakfast, and they are very accommodating on dietary restrictions. We will be back next year. Recommend visiting in October, crowds are less, weather much more pleasant.

Couldn't ask for a better experience As first time B&B guests and visitors to Tybee, my fiancé and I weren't sure what to expect, but after seeing all of the positive reviews for Surf Song we decided to try it out. We were absolutely amazed at our experience! The Starfish Room is spacious with a luxuriously comfortable king size bed and a loveseat that looks out at the front yard. The bathroom is large and features a nice sized closet in the back. This particular room only has a shower stall, so if you'd prefer the option to soak in a tub you should book a different room. While you could hear footsteps upstairs and the occasional noise from another room, the rooms are generally very quiet and afford a lot of privacy. It truly felt like we were the only ones there, even when the whole house was booked! Megan's breakfasts are thoughtfully prepared each morning, and she is wonderful at making accommodations if you give her enough notice. She determines her menu based on how many guests she has and if there are dietary restrictions, so as long as you communicate with her in advance of your trip, you will not be disappointed! Coffee is ready around 7 and breakfast each morning is served at 8 in three courses, and each day generally rotates between sweet and savory "main events". The first course is a small appetizer. While we were there we had things like lemon pound cake, pumpkin bread, and a bacon wrapped sausage bite. The second course is fruit and includes things like fruit pizza, a breakfast version of a banana split with frozen yogurt, grape salad with yogurt and honey, and my personal favorite, a half of a broiled grapefruit with a brown sugar crust - YUM! The "main events" were well portioned after the appetizer and fruit and featured meals like scrambled eggs with sausage gravy and biscuits, PB&J french toast with sausage patties, pancakes with homemade blueberry syrup and delicious local breakfast sausage, and egg cups wrapped in bacon with english muffins. Orange juice, cranberry juice, and water are all available with breakfast each morning, in addition to the coffee. In the front room there is a mini fridge stocked with drinks, a large water dispenser that is always filled with filtered water, and an ice maker to fill your water bottle or cup. There is also a keurig and k-cups available if you want to have coffee with the sunrise before the freshly brewed coffee is available. Megan also has homemade treats available all day, as well as a selection of salty chips, nuts, and crackers. The wraparound porch has plenty of seating areas where you can enjoy the peace and quiet, sit in the porch swing and watch the palm trees sway in the breeze, or lounge by the pool. The front porch is a very short walk to private beach access. There are still a decent amount of people on the beach in that area, but it is not nearly as crowded as the public access points are at North Beach, Mid Beach, and South Beach. Surf Song is also easy walking distance to the lighthouse and restaurants and bars like Sundae Cafe and Back River Brewery. I could go on and on about our trip and how amazing it was. We will absolutely be coming back to Tybee and staying at Surf Song!

Great location, it just wasn’t for us Leaving a positive review even though this place just wasn’t for us. We typically travel and stay and B&B’s across the US, Europe, and Latin America, so for what it’s worth here’s our review: The pros: the beach is just a short walk down the boardwalk and Megan provides chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels. There is also a private pool overlooking the bay. The savory breakfast was great. The cons: We felt very confined by the owner’s schedule and think Megan is more hands on than we are used to or comfortable with. For example, breakfast is right at 8:30am, and check in is from 3-6. When we travel, we like to sleep in, or have more of a casual schedule. We felt somewhat rushed out on our check out day - cleaning supplies waiting outside our door and owner reminding us several times of the check out time of 11. We do not believe the host was trying to be rude, rather the opposite, but you could tell she runs a tight ship, and expects everyone to be at breakfast on time and eat what is served (the Owner made a comment to another guest we were sitting with for not finishing her meal, and then praised her partner kudos finishing his breakfast - for a moment it felt like we were kids again? They were clearly embarrassed). I truly do not mean to throw the owner under the bus, but it’s important she understand how her behavior can make guests feel uncomfortable. Lastly, The sand dollar room was adorable and would be cute for one person, perhaps a teenager traveling with their parents. For 2 adults it was terribly small. No where to our suitcases or clothing. My husband fell in the bathtub bruising his back and elbow. We recommend the hosts put a handle bar to step in or a grippy may for standing. For $300 a night we will rent a vacation home next time where we can go on our own schedule, eat what we wish, and have more space.

Best in Tybee!!! A warm and inviting stay. Felt like being at home. Very clean and beautiful. Innkeeper was friendly, kind and knowledgeable about the island, with lots of great advice. Can't wait until we return. It truly felt like a home away from home. I highly recommend Surf Song.

Amazing stay! This was our 3rd time at Surf Song, first with Megan and Jeremy. Jeremy made us feel welcome, the room was great, and the location was amazing! Breakfasts were delicious and hospitality was on point. Unfortunately, we had to leave a day early, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Surf Song!
