This hotel’s incompetent staff treated our celebration getaway like TRASH!!! Never more disgusted with a hotel’s incompetence in my life!! This hotel’s staff threw away the most expensive meal of my life and destroyed my husband’s milestone birthday weekend!! I can’t even imagine the massive incompetence it took to ruin this experience for us in such spectacular fashion!! After for some reason not receiving ANY room cleaning for the entirety of our stay, trash piling up and having to beg for towels.. On our last day we packed some of our things in our car but left everything we had in the fridge and some other bags in the room while we left to go do one more thing. We made SURE to ask at the front desk to assure we had late checkout which the girl in the sparkly mermaid earrings who needs to be fired promised us we had UNTIL 2 PM TO CHECK OUT!! So we left for less than an hour and wouldn’t you know, when we returned to the hotel… literally HUNDREDS of dollars of food from Jordan’s Steakhouse birthday dinner that we were SO excited to enjoy our leftovers at home! THROWN AWAY by the staff who were too lazy to clean our room at any other point!!! Our steak, lobster, crab, cured bacon, a bottle of Barolo wine, a bottle of sparkling wine, a box of gifted foods from Harry and David that family had shipped to the hotel, all kinds of other snacks and beverages.. GONE!! All because of the ABSOLUTE failure of the staff of this hotel!! From front desk to housekeeping to management, a TOTAL FAILURE at every level! It’s not even what you threw away it’s how you destroyed our once in a lifetime experience and treated us like garbage leftovers that will forever keep us FAR away from any Hyatt EVER again and we have been good customers to be treated like this!

40th Birthday Weekend - Should have stayed elsewhere I celebrated my 40th birthday weekend at Hyatt Place Uncasville (Mohegan Sun) with my wife as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here when I turned 30, but man have times changed for the worse. I don’t like to give 1 star ratings short of egregious issues (which explains my 2 star rating), but this Hyatt has become a rundown uncomfortable place where you’d be lucky to get a good night’s sleep. The black out drapes were not black out - I had a terrible night’s sleep both nights we stayed here as I was awoken at 5:45am each morning like clockwork by the bright sun entering my room at the top of the “black out curtains”. At least the bed was comfortable, but that didn’t matter when the sunlight wakes you up at 6am every morning. Bring your nightshades to address this problem. The walls are thin as we heard children yelling at the other end of the hallway both nights we stayed, and there was a barking dog across the hall from us. I love dogs but just know the walls are very thin here and there is no peace and quiet. We also didn’t get housekeeping during our stay despite requesting it. After we returned to the hotel at 5pm and saw housekeeping had not come, I requested more towels to be brought to our room, but after an hour I went down to the front desk to get a fresh set of towels. They eventually brought towels to our room about an hour later, but that was after I had already gone down to the front desk. The breakfast was good. Good scrambled eggs, juices, and the coffee was good. They need to get rid of those sad pieces of ham and splurge on some bacon or even sausages. We didn’t even bother taking the weekend shuttle and drove to and from Mohegan Sun instead. Overall I would never stay here again even if it was free. Hyatt is generally a terrific brand with great properties worldwide, but this isn’t one of them. If you’re traveling to Mohegan Sun and want to enjoy your visit, stay at a different hotel nearby or splurge on a room at Mohegan Sun — I wish I did and we would have enjoyed my 40th birthday weekend a lot more.

Pet friendly and a nice breakfast Stayed here with the family for a few days. We brought our kid and two dogs with us. The pool was great, our kid had a lot of fun there. The hotel is very pet friendly, we had no issues with the dogs and the room was still nice. The room had a divider between the living room area and the bedroom which allowed us to have a little privacy from our kid and dogs at night. The AC works very well in the room, but it was very humid in the bedroom (extraordinarily humid outside), and when you have two dogs that go outside in the rain, let’s just say the air circulation in the hotel room could’ve been better. The free breakfast was awesome as well, the coffee isn’t half bad and there were quite a few different options for breakfast. A lot of people stayed there the same weekend as us so there weren’t many options for seating, but the staff did keep the breakfast stocked throughout the entire breakfast timeframe. We would definitely stay here again when we go to the area.
