Recent Vacation to Long Island Recently booked a vacation staying 7 nights at the Uniondale Marriott Hotel where i have stayed many times including booking meeting rooms and had business associates stay. Checking in i was told i only had one night reserved instead of 7 upon further digging into the clerk said i see you had 7 nights but they only sent over one night and would get back to me shortly, they never did. So my grandson and i stayed that night and during the night my grandson had a problem breathing and coughing and really did not think much of it until the morning when he woke up and could hardly breath. In the process of getting up he flipped the comforter up and i noticed black patches in the bedspread appeared to be mold. At that point i told him we were going to check out and went down stairs. When i went to check out the girl at the desk checked us out and did not even ask why so i asked do you want to know why and her reply was ok why. at that point i showed her a picture of the mold on the bedspread and she said that is terrible, sorry, we will give you 20k points, which i never received as of yet. We went to another Marriott where they were very nice, and hotel was spotless. My only complaint was this hotel was much more expensive and not in my budget but had to make it work. My grandson was still not breathing well had to get him medicine and he improved in a couple of days but felt our vacation was ruined as i had to spend extra on the hotel and not able to do the sightseeing we planned. Not a great first impression for my grandson seeing it was his first visit. I will continue to leave negative comments about this hotel wherever i can. I am a loyal Marriott Customer for many years prior to retiring but will think about how loyal going forward.

Believe the reviews, this place is terrible I'm a Gold Elite Marriott member. I read the reviews on the hotel, but booked anyway because I stayed here 5 years ago for my brother's wedding and it was great. I booked for an 8 night stay and barely made it through the first night before having to check out and find another hotel. The staff is nice, that's not the problem. The issues are: lack of hot water in the shower (my 7 year old started screaming mid shower because the water went ice cold), the fire alarm came on around 3am and scared us all half to death, not enough towels in the room and the front desk ran out of towels around 10pm, the hallways and room are musty smelling - almost like a smoke smell. I honestly have never stayed at a hotel with so many issues...and a Marriott no less !! The reviews are all saying the same things...believe them and save your money! Wake up, Marriott higher ups - fix this joint !

Only one good thing about this hotel: Michelle, 32 year dining room server. There wasn't much to get excited about at this hotel - check-in was OK despite the customer barging into the process complaining loudly about how crappy his room was and that nothing was being done about it. Not a great introduction to property. That evening, the fire alarm went off at 11:45 pm and an announcement was made that it was being investigated and it was not necessary to vacate the building. A few minutes later it was announced all clear. Alarm went off for a second time at 12:45 am, same drill. After a longer period of time, all clear was announced. I wondered about the numerous flight crews I had seen throughout the hotel. Since the concierge lounge was closed, we were offered breakfast vouchers and the only real positive was a delightful and extremely hospitable individual (Michelle) was our server and she made the whole stay in the hotel better. She deserves a raise and much be well taken care of since she indicated she has worked there 30+ years! Kudos to Michelle.

Dated, rundown, and overall disappointing! Overall, not up to a Marriott standards. We are elite and the stay was definitely not up to Marriott standards, especially for Rewards members. The person who checked us in was snippy. Yes, snippy. Also, they made it like they were doing us a favor when we asked about breakfast being included since the concierge room was closed. The room was ok but definitely needed a better cleaning. The bathroom floor had some hair, the coffee table needed replacing. The chair and sofa needed cleaning. The bed skirt was dirty. Plastic cups in the bathroom? Really? The wallpaper was old and needed replacing. One outlet did yet work near the bed nor did one light above the bed. We called for an engineer for the outlet since we needed two outlets for medical devices. The engineer came and agreed it didn’t work but merely told us to move the furniture to plug it on behind the bed/ nightstand. The wallpaper near the elevator was peeling. The grounds had garbage here and there. The buffet breakfast had really bad, probably powdered, eggs. No omelette station. Just disappointing, in general. Worse yet, a fire alarm went off at 11 pm. You couldn’t understand the announcement piped into the room. A fire alarm going off is something I noticed happened just days before in another persons review. Does this happen several times a week? I’ve been to this location many times in the past (prepandemic ) and this stay was really bad. The entire hotel needs a renovation or at the very least, a massive deep cleaning. I won’t be returning.

Less than stellar experience We stayed for an extended stay and well at least the room was clean. Great hotel if you want to be woken up by a fire alarm - but don't worry it will go off during the day too. During our stay it went off at 5am, 6am, midnight, and 3pm. Sometimes they came over the loudspeaker to say they were investigating, other times they didn't. Understaffed so when you call the front desk from your room (which is necessary for supplies bc they currently aren't servicing the room due to covid), don't expect a response. Don't expect a response to texts via their app either. Oh and even though we were there for an extended stay, someone must have forgotten to mark the room as "occupied" because they assigned our room to someone else, and gave them a key card to open our door. We then had to tell those guests, nope this is our room. We were told we would be given Bonvoy points for the trouble, as if that was enough. I don't think the points ever came. Then we were told we would get a $100 credit, which we definitely never got. Stay at your own risk.
